Holding hands, laughing, enjoying each other's presence...
It was just like old times.
"Come on, bro, let's go see Toriel!"
"Sure? Why were you living there anyways?"
"Well, Toriel found me in Outertale, so I stayed with her."
"But what if it was someone else?"
"Well, she took me to the Caverns, so I think it's ok."
"Alright, brother... I'm just so worried about this. What if there was something else in your mind?"(Subtle Dream, HE KNOWS!)
"Well, I'd keep it away from you, Dream!"
But Nightmare knew he couldn't.
Corrupted was trying to take over, spitting insults in the process.
"You can't even try to say the truth!"
"You're a horrible brother."
"I bet Dream will abandon you soon, just you wait!"
"Pathetic."
Dream brought his mind back to the surface.
"Brother?"
"I'm here, Dream. Sorry, my mind just wandered off a bit."
Dream beamed.
"It's OK, brother! Now, can I have some of Toriel's pie?"
"Sure! I'll go ask her."

Dream was worried.
Nightmare wasn't acting like himself.
He kept talking with himself and sometimes held his head super tightly.
Dream had a suspicion it was the goopy octopus.
So he, being still quite naive, asked Nightmare.
"Nighty?"
"Yes, Dream?"
"Is the goopy octopus in your head?"
Nightmare panicked. Shoot, Dream knew! Just have to pretend.
"No? Why would he be? I'm fine, Dream, no need to worry."
"If you say so..."
That night, Nightmare was plagued with double the insults by Corrupted.
And that commenced the first physical fight he had with the goopy octopus.
He didn't know how much more he could take it.
This multiverse was new, but, in a way...
it was just like Dreamtale.
