Ps. This is Emyr Gust speaking in a hushed voice. You see, I am a very important character in this story and no, I am not the author. ( She doesn't know that I am speaking to you) Please don't tell Caelon that I am sharing this viable information that will expose his story to the curious crowd. The further you read, the better you will understand why I am speaking in a hushed voice!

It is not the author's fault that this story is being published here, don't blame her with whatever will happen for it already did. I am merely using the author to relay what has transpired.

And oh, please play the music above before you read and let it continue playing while you do. It's a great song to describe the story!

Anyways, read on, Gaeans.

PROLOGUE

"Marry me."

The sound of harsh breathing is all that can be heard in the small room. A little gasp escaped the lips of a beautiful creature, who is nestled beneath a man of matching features; like a god carved out of a stone.

"What?"

"What?"

"I said, marry me."

Aila couldn't help but look at Caelon as he repeated the words. The hair on her neck stand on end as her cheeks tingles. She was shocked, but most of all, embarrassed. She touched her lips that is numb with all the biting and suckig that she received from Caelon.

So that is how it felt to be kissed by someone.

She shakes her head and pushed the door open, hastily freeing herself from the small dark room. The sudden brightness blinded her for a minute but Caelon caught up to her and pulled her back.

"Marry me, Aila."

Aila gasped

Aila gasped. How can he say it so casually with all the people watching them in this crowded street?

Since she came on earth, Aila Seymour expected that her mission will be easy because she found Caelon Rouen, a cupid just like her but she was confused of his cold behaviour directed at her. When he held her golden arrrows, they turned into steel and he never smiled. His words were heavily stained with angst and he has an abnormal heartbeat a proof that she was mistaken.

Caelon Rouen was a Dieuoubliè, a fallen cupid, a banished.

Caelon Rouen warned her to stay away and never make contact again so why is he making this proposal so suddenly? And with all this people around?

Caelon looked into her doubtful eyes, expecting that she will react this way. After all, he is surprised of his decision too. For a millennia, he allowed nothing to break his composure. He built a mask that protected him from pain and rejection. Even the world wars have failed to shake his being yet here he is, talking to a foul creature, the nemesis of his very existence - a cupid. .He couldn't believe how his steps falter the moment she appeared in front of him, an epitome of innocence and so full of love. She is so pure that he has the urge to barf yet he could only stare.

From the moment she came to him, Caelon cannot erase her from his thoughts. Aila resembled someone that is so dear to him in the past and he cannot allow her to walk away from him after invading his life.

'She is a threat to me, and so, I'd rather keep her close than let my guard down and die upon her hands.' Caelon gritted his teeth and shake his head.

He have read the prophecy and it has something to do with his encounter with this cupid. He is only doing this for the sake of his survival. He has to control her moves and discover her plans. In order to keep her close to him, he has to marry her. Even if he cannot love, he has to take her. Though it sounds odd to both cupid and Dieuoubliè like him, he felt like this union is necessary to make him understand why he is punished for a millennia. He has to find out why he shouldn't be loved when he has every right to.

As she was too stunned to speak, Caelon Rouen took the opportunity to slip the ring on Aila's finger and tugged her towards the direction of the registry. This is what he had planned and he cannot believe how easy it is happening. Any moment now, he is expecting a surprise attack from anyone he has done wrong in the past and take him down. This is their opportunity to defeat him as he is too vulnerable with a cupid next to him.

"Wait." She pulled him back and Caelon turns to face her. Aila is blushing, her head bowed while she played with her earring. Caelon felt impatient of her actions that he only tightened his hands on her wrist and tugged.

"Come on, it is almost five in the evening and the registry will be close. We have to do it today, somehow." Aila rolled her eyes at his words before she remove the earring from her ears. "What are you doing? Are you trying to embarrass me by backing out?"

"No, I am not backing out."

"Then why delay?" Caelon held her shoulders and Aila couldn't help but swallow. "You need my help, cupid. We benefit each other in this arrangement. You just have to be my wife and perform your duties as one. After your duties, I will help you in finding your parents. It's a win- win, so we must proceed."

I know that I need your help, Caelon, but I don't care of whether you will help me or not as long as I will be by your side. Aila thought as she stared at him, giving him a serene smile. Caelon glared at Aila as she held out the earring for him to take.

She is confused of why he decided to make her his wife but this is the only way that she could get close to him. Taking his hand, she whispered, "You're asking me to marriage yet I don't have a ring to give you so I have an alternative," She spread his hand and held out the ring, "Mind if I put it on your finger, Mr. Rouen."

The scowl upon his brows only deepened and Caelon clicked his tongue. He held out his hand and Aila smirked as she slipped the earring on his ring finger, "Perfect."

And so, their fates were sealed as it were before. A story that is never forgotten because of how tragically lovely it is. A story that warns the heart that never listens to the mind.

A story of how a cupid fell in love.
