Luke's POV.

So she forgave me. And that was that. We moved on and decided to forget it. I promised I would never ever pull something like that again. And I kept that promise.

Every now and then, we would have little makeout sessions, but nothing too serious. Most of the time it was just cuddling or talking or just staying quiet.

But right now, we were at school. Holding hands.

Let me just repeat that.

Holding hands.

Sure, we probably looked like one of those really stupid cheesy couples but I didn't care. I was holding her hand in public. It looked like I was her boyfriend. And that meant a lot to me.

Anyway, it was lunch and Michael, Ruby, Mia and I were all outside on this huge grassy hill just behind the school. Michael was trying to make daisy chains with Ruby (but failed) and Mia was just hugging her knees and staring at something in the distance.

I sighed and poked her shoulder. "Hey."

She hummed in response, sighing a bit.

"Are you okay?" I frowned. She just shrugged and looked up at me.

"I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

"You're staring at something. I don't know what. But you're staring at something." I told her.

She raised an eyebrow and sighed, sitting up straighter and stretching her legs out in front of her. "It's nothing. Don't worry about me."

"That's all he does. You can't just expect him not to." Michael chipped in.

I rolled my eyes and sighed, looking back down at Mia. "Unfortunately he's right."

She smiled a bit. "Well thank you." Then sighed. "But don't. Don't worry about me. I'm okay."

I frowned. "I-"

"That's like telling him not to get any more tattoos." Ruby mumbled. "He'll still do it."

"Hey-"

"And to stop drinking."

"I don't-"

"He's just going to lie about it."

"This isn't about me!" I snapped. Michael and Ruby just shrugged, laughing. Mia smiled and shook her head, placing her small hand over mine.

"Calm down, Luke. They're just kidding."

"Whatever." I mumbled.

*

After school, I walked back home with Mia.

And guess who was waiting at my front door.

None other than Calum Hood.

I groaned, looking down at Mia. "Can we just hide and wait until he leaves?"

She rolled her eyes and shook her head. "He's probably just going to ask about the homework or something. You two need to learn to get along."

I sighed. "But I hate him."

"Luke."

"Mia."

She sighed. "Look, it'll be fine. You go inside and I'll talk to him."

I shook my head. "Nuh-uh. No way am I leaving you out here alone with him again."

Mia rolled her eyes and walked up to Calum, pulling me along with her.

"Hey Cal." She smiled up at him.

Did I mention we were holding hands again?

"Hey." He smiled back. His face fell when he saw our hands. "O-oh. Are you two together now...?"

Mia frowned and pulled her hand away quickly, shaking her head. "N-no."

I frowned at her. She could've at least mentioned the date.

"Anyway, what are you doing here?" She asked, quickly changing the subject. Calum smiled and pulled out a sheet of paper.

"You forgot this."

Mia grabbed it from him and read over it. I peered over her shoulder to try and read it but all I saw were a couple of words because she was a pretty fast reader.

"Thanks." She smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear.

God she was so beautiful.

"So...I'll see you tomorrow?" Calum smiled wide. Mia nodded and bit down on her lip.

"Yeah. Tomorrow. Thanks again Cal." She gave him a small smile before he left and we walked inside.

I closed the door behind us and sighed. "You could've at least told him about the date."

Mia nodded and sighed, raking a hand through her hair. "I know. I'm sorry. I panicked."

"What if I was your boyfriend? Would you just deny that we were together?" I frowned.

She shook her head and looked up at me. "Luke, I'm sorry."

"It's fine..." I sighed. "Just-I don't know."

"You don't know what?" Mia frowned.

"I think it's safer to say that I just really really like you." I mumbled, looking away from her.

She smiled softly and took my hands in hers. "I really really like you too Luke."

I shook my head. "No. I mean-more than just a crush or whatever. It's like. I can imagine being your boyfriend. Protecting you. Cuddling you. Holding hands in public more often. Maybe even kissing. I can imagine having a life with you...and I know that sounds creepy and stupid and cheesy and weird, but I just-I really like you, Mia."

(how i feel about luke really bye)

She smiled wider and kissed my cheek. "That's really sweet."

"It sounded so cheesy." I muttered, to which she giggled.

"No, it was cute. And I don't think it's creepy or stupid or cheesy or weird. I think that's the sweetest thing anyone's ever said to me. I mean it."

I smiled down at her then looked away nervously, blushing lightly. "S-so what I'm trying to s-say is...w-will you be my g-girlfriend?"

Mia stared at me for a moment before nodding, a huge smile spread across her face. "Yes, Luke. Yes I will."

no i know it wasn't that long pls don't eat me im sorry bby ily x <33
