His head glanced across at you staring out of the window, taking in all the foreign sights. Each passing sight was a little bit closer to reaching Hobi's home, and the inevitable fear that you were about to meet his family continuously grew, feeling your own confidence drop more and more.

"You don't need to worry," his cheery voice assured you, tapping gently against your shoulder. Your eyes slowly looked away from the window and across to him, noticing his wide smile.

"How can I not worry?" You sighed, shaking your head.

Ever since he mentioned going to meet his family, you'd been terrified. You knew it was going to be tough to try and bond with his family, especially when you came from a different place to them all.

Hobi could tell how stressed you were, anytime he mentioned the trip he'd notice your body tensing up. He'd shown you plenty of photos of everyone, so you knew who each of them was, and each member of his family was as strikingly beautiful as the next.

You knew being a foreigner his family would probably have a preconception about you, you just hoped that you could prove them wrong about you. "I've told you to trust me, my family will fall in love with you, just like I have done."

Every time you got even the slightest bit nervous, Hobi was always on hand to pick you up and remind you that things would be fine. He knew his family, and he knew what they'd want for him.

You smiled softly, trying to assure him that you were alright. "What happens if they don't like me? What if they don't want you to date me and say we should break up?"

"That's never going to happen, and even if it does, I'm not going to stop that from letting me be happy with you."

His hand moved down to rest on your thigh for the rest of the journey, squeezing it gently every time he noticed you drift out of the conversation and begin to panic again.

You could feel his own mood pick up as he began to recognise the place he called home, and all of the little spots that he'd told you about so many times, that he could finally show you. "There's so many things around here that I want to take you to."

Your head could only nod at his words, recognising a few of the places yourself from photos that you'd seen. It all felt so distant when you heard the stories, but now you were here, the realisation of what was happening here was taunting you at everything you saw.

The daydream you had was broken by the sound of the car falling silent, followed by Hobi's hand patting your thigh a few times. You looked out of the window and noticed you were outside of a house, tentatively stepping out from the car.

Before you'd even shut the car door, you watched the house door open and a woman step out, straight away who you recognised as his mother. You stood back as she quickly made her way over to Hobi, giving him the tightest of hugs.

He chuckled loudly, throwing his arms tightly around her waist, spinning around to offer you a smile. "It's so good to see you mum, you're looking so well and healthy."

"Jiwoo has been sending me lots of delicious foods recently," she informed him, pulling away from his frame. As she did so, you watched closely as her head turned, and finally looked at you.

Your heart was pounding in your chest, as Hobi beckoned you over to stand by your side, pressing his hand into the small of your back. You weren't quite sure how to react in front of his mother for the first time, bowing lightly in front of her.

Hobi looked between the two of you, the smile his mother wore, and the fear that your expression clearly showed, chuckling lightly.

"It's good to meet you," you finally spoke.

Her head shook, taking a big step forwards to wrap her arms tightly around you, giving you the warmest of squeezes, desperately trying to get rid of all your nerves.

"It's lovely to meet you too," she smiled, taking a step back from you.

The two of you were soon encouraged into the house to get into the cold, walking into the living where you saw his father and Jiwoo sat. Your body tensed up once more as you sat yourself down on the sofa, right beside Hobi.

"It's so nice to finally put a face to your name Y/N, we've heard so many stories about you," his father chuckled, glaring across at his son. "He doesn't shut up about you if I'm honest."

"That's not true!" Hobi quickly interjected, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

It wasn't long before Jiwoo began to introduce herself too, desperate to hear a little more about where you came from. With such a huge interest in travelling, she wanted to hear all about your home, and try and arrange a trip out there some day.

"It can't be easy for you moving from there to Korea," she hummed as you finished your little story, "it's like being in two different worlds I bet sometimes."

"It wasn't easy," you acknowledged, "but I certainly feel like I've settled in well now."

It didn't take long for you to relax around his family, each one of them was so much kinder than you could have ever expected. Each of them took a huge interest in finding out more about you, practically silencing Hobi every time that he tried to speak over you.

You couldn't help but chuckle as you watched his mother put him in his place time and time again, desperate to learn the trick so that you could pull that off when the two of you got back home.

"He'll know that the woman is the boss soon enough," she teased, "I'm sure the two of you will have the rest of your lives to bicker over stuff like this anyway."

"Let's not get too ahead of ourselves mum," Hobi quickly interrupted, watching as your face dropped at her words. "There's still plenty we want to do in the now before we look too far to the future."

"I said that about your father."

"That was also thirty years ago," he replied, resting a hand against your side to stop you from worrying too much. "I don't want you to scare Y/N off to quickly."

Looking around the room as everyone exchanged a chuckle, you couldn't help but smile, all the nerves you'd felt about coming here had all been for nothing, and now you couldn't understand why you'd ever been so scared.

"Why would you scare me off?" You joked, noticing his mother's wide smile. "If you think your mum is embarrassing, you just wait until you meet mine, and then you'll be in trouble."

The five of you sat around for a little while longer as his family told you all about the embarrassing stories they had of Hobi, whilst you told them a few more about all of the things he got up to when the two of you were at home together.

After saying your goodbyes, and getting back in the car, you finally let go of a huge sigh of relief, staring across at Hobi as he laughed. "I told you that you had nothing to worry about."

"You can't blame me for being so nervous," you challenged, running a hand through your hair. "But your family were all so kind, you're lucky to have them."

"I am," he smiled, "but it sounds like Jiwoo is desperate to come with us the next time we go to your home, I hope you're prepared for that."

Your head nodded, "I'm just glad that they all liked me, it's such a relief."

"I told you all along, they'd love you."
