I noticed this small sound in my dorm room during the morning after I had woken up. It was like the sound of air escape; hissing somewhere in the background - you could only hear it if you listened really carefully.

I had woken up early today for some odd reason and for the first time in a long time, I had had a fairly decent amount of sleep. It was strange to say the least. Yes I still had nightmares but I had managed to get at least 5 hours.

Then I woke up to the sound of a small hiss. I dismissed it instantly, thinking it was just the boiler being weird in the dorm halls and I wasn't the only one.

I shouldn't have.

Now it was late at night and I was changing back into my silk pyjamas, ready to either go to sleep or stare out of my window for the next six hours.

If I had listened carefully, I would have noticed that the noise was still there. I would have also noticed that the room was smelling slightly weird. But I didn't.

I brushed my hair carefully, pulling the silky strands into a low ponytail with a loose scrunchie and headed to turn off the light. That's when I decided to check in with Adir about the surveillance videos.

I headed towards the end of the hallway that I know Adir stayed in and knocked on the door lightly. It took a couple of seconds for him to answer and when he did, he ushered me inside and closed the door.

I waved at this roommate who was sitting on the bed, flipping through his phone. He waved back slightly, putting in his earphones and continuing his business.

It was around 11:30 pm and most people were already in their dorms doing god knows what.

I walked towards Adir's bed and sat down on the soft mattress as he placed himself beside me and pulled the laptop towards him. We sat together with our backs on the wall and with our legs out, watching the computer. "So?" I asked.

He sighed. "It took me the entire day to just get through half of the camera footages considering we have a total of two weeks to get through. But so far, nothing." He admitted, looking at me.

I sighed myself. "This is going to take a while."

"Yep." He turned back to the screen.

"I can take over for a while. You've been doing it all day, take a break." I reached for the laptop.

"No it's okay. You need the sleep anyway." He swiftly pulled the laptop away from my reach.

"Let me help you dumbass. A couple hours of no sleep won't do anything."

"We all know you need it, pan." He sighed. "Just go to sleep and I'll let you know what I find." He paused before muttering "If I find anything."

I huffed, crossing my arms. "Seriously.."

"Shush or I'll call you Dora for the rest of your goddamn life." That shut me up.
