She stood at the doorstep of the Luthra house with attitude and everything about her screamed royalty. She was a woman in her late sixties, a year or two older than bani dadi.
She was Leela Maheshwari, the elder sister of Bani Luthra. She was a widow and lived with her children in Delhi. The heavy white color sari with golden works at the end was draped around her neatly.
Her hair tied in a tight bun stretching her forehead. A black fat bindi in the middle. Her hands were covered with golden bangles and fingers with numerous rings.
Leela stood in front of Ravi who was following her every actions trying to study her which she was good at. She understood this leela Maheshwari was going to be a hurdle.
Leela looked at her and held the pallu of Ravi's sari covering her head and pulling it longer like a veil. Shiva was too angry but he knew if he reacted it would create a ruckus. Preeta was about to say something but karan held her hand.
"Ek aurat apne pallu mein sab kuch bandhke rakhti hai. Izzat, mariyada aur lihaaz isliye jitna bada pallu utni hi ghar ki izzat aut ek aurat ki mariyada aur lihaaz sahi salamat rahegi." She said in a stern poisonous voice.
She then stood in front of preeta who was looking at her with doe shaped eyes. Karan feared if she said something to preeta. Leela looked at her from top to bottom.
Preeta was dressed in a yellow shirt paired with blue blazer and blue denims. Leela smirked and held her hand and brushed her fingers through the red bangles that she wore.
"Yeh jeans shirt pehenne ke baad, jo yeh chuda..." leela held her mangalsutra. "Mangalsutra aur yeh..." she parted her hair showing the sindoor. "Sindoor pehenke khudko shadi shuda nahi tehra sakti. Ek patni ki pehchan uske mathe ke pallu se hoti hai."
Leela stood in front of the whole family and pointed to Ravi and preeta standing beside each other. "Ek behen apni dusra behen ke liye ma ban sakti hai, ek bhabhi bhi ma ban sakti hai lekin ek jethani kabhi devrani ki ma nahi ban sakti." Preeta and ravi looked at her shockingly.
"Ek jethani kabhi apni devrani ki badi behen nahi ho sakti."
