Strange

When I opened my eyes, a pair of deep blue eyes were hovering over me. I blinked a few times before sitting up, "Woah, sorry I fell asleep. How long have I been sleeping?" He didn't answer but kept staring at me. "Why do you keep staring at me like that?" I asked.

He leaned in as I held my breath. Our eyes didn't break contact as if we saw right through each other. It felt like an eternity before he smile, the kind of smile that makes your heart flutter. "Just because," he said as he turned away.

He got out and came to open my door for me. As I exited, I thanked him and walked toward my house. I turned around to see him leaving. I opened the door to see my parents coming down the stairs, "Where did you go sweetie? You didn't answer your phone, so we got worried," my mom voiced her concern directly while my dad sat on the couch waiting for me.

"Oh, sorry... I was at my friend's house and didn't realize my phone died," I lied. I never lied to my parents, but I couldn't tell them what happened just yet because I'm afraid they'd never let me walk to school again.

"You have another friend?" My parents asked at the same time.

"Uh... Yes, in fact, I was dropped off by my friend.." I awkwardly mumbled. "You see... I made a new friend, and Uhm..." I kept fidgeting my fingers. I probably should've just told them the truth, but then they'll ask who took care of me, and that's another big can of worms. Here goes nothing... "His name is Corey." I held my breath, waiting for them to say something... but they just exchanged looks with each other. I hope they don't ask any more questions because I'm not good at lying, and it will end up a big mess.

"Okay, but next time, please check in with us so we won't be so worried okay?" mom reminded. "We just want you to check-in, especially when it's late. We want to know you're alright. You know you can always talk to us," dad chimed in.

I nodded, "You're right. Sorry, I took so long to get home and lost track of time. I'll remember to check my phone to make sure it doesn't die and check in with you guys if I come home late."

They both nodded and smiled. I couldn't help but smile back. I'll tell the truth soon. I just need to figure some things out. I went straight to my room in the most "normal" way possible. I wouldn't want them to suspect anything was wrong.

Whew.. that was a close one. I wonder why my parents didn't ask any more questions after I told them it was Corey. Did they know him too? I'll ask them tomorrow. I need to shower and head to bed because my head is still throbbing.

As I twisted and turned in bed, I couldn't help but think about how I ended up in Corey's house. How did he find me? Was anyone around? How was he able to bring me back? Wait... HOW did he know where I lived?!
