Chapter 16: I'm Sorry

Start from the beginning

"Speaking of those two, I did ask Naruto if he could let me join his ride." The platinum blonde said. "Although he's a bit...cold. He was never like that."

Cold. Sakura remembered the time that Tenten told her that Naruto regained his memories. Sooner or later, Ino and everyone else would find out about it. Too bad, Tenten isn't allowed to take a day off—-since the owner of the corporation himself has been out.

"That aside, what happened to your ride with Sasuke?" Sakura snapped back to reality as she looked at Ino, who was teasingly wiggling her eyebrows.

Sakura sighed.

"Nothing."

Ino's ears rang as she repeated, "Nothing?"

"Nothing." Sakura nodded.

Ino sulk dramatically as anime tears streamed down her face, "No Uchiha babies?!"

The pinkette was alerted with that sudden outcome, so she slapped Ino's shoulder lightly, noting her to keep quiet since they're in a wedding celebration. Nonetheless, Ino just laughed.

"Naruto, Sasuke!"

As if on cue, Sakura mentally began sulking, knowing the fact that her best friend has spotted the two guys why she's stressed out right now.

"Ino." Naruto sent a small smile as he went near the table with Sasuke.

"So, you're with each other huh? I was looking for you guys!" Ino exclaimed as she offered them a seat.

The platinum blonde took a glimpse of the pinkette's expression, only to find it blank, but she was able to see through Sakura's true intentions—and she was uncomfortable.

Even so, Ino knew that there was something bothering her best friend, regarding Sasuke. She secretly glanced at Uchiha, trying to read his emotions, even though he hides it very well. Yet there was no sign of guilt or uneasiness in him; on the contrary, he was expressionless as usual.

A sigh escaped the blonde's lips.

"Here's your food," she averted her gaze at a girl—who she assumed as someone who worked at the catering service—and smiled when their meal was finally served.

"So, uh, let's start eating?" Ino smiled at them to reduce the awkward situation.

Her three serious friends gave a plain nod and stared at their food.

Ino pouted. Well at least food makes me smile at a time like this. She thought mentally.

No wonder Sakura calls her a pig.

The celebration started at three in the afternoon and up until now—-which is five-thirty—-the guests were still at the beach.

"Sorry Rui, but only the four of us were able to go here. I heard Shikamaru and Neji were still busy and the others as well." Ino apologized to her cousin.

"Kiba's also here, Ino." The pinkette added. "I'll be touring myself around the beach. See you later."

The pinkette went to a perfect spot to watch the sunset, but it was a little far from the venue. Even so, she enjoyed the peaceful and refreshing ambiance.

"Sakura."

The pink-haired turned around, due to the fact that she heard a familiar voice.

"Oh. Hi Kiba." She smiled. As much as possible, Sakura tries to avoid him because of what happened in the previous week.

Kiba walked up to her and returned the smile, "I just wanted to apologize for the...uhh..you know."

Why is every guy apologizing to me? She asked herself but later accepted Kiba's apology.

"Thanks, Sakura-chan!" Kiba grinned as he wrapped his arms on Sakura—-which caused the situation to get more awkward.

"Err, I-I'll see you later?" He asks.

"Y-Yeah." The pinkette meekly nodded her head.

She watched as Kiba went back to the venue. She sighed and returned her gaze to the view. Was Sakura being too kind to Kiba? Should she get furious and self-centered because of what happened? Well, he did practically shove himself to her.

Over-thinking was too much.

Another sigh escaped her lips as she felt a hand was placed on her shoulder. Once more, she turned around, expecting that it was Kiba or Ino, but both her choices were wrong.

"S-Sasuke?"

Of course, the guy showed no expression at all. The pinkette sent a small smile at him and was about to ask why he showed up, but an unexpected thing happened again.

"S-Sasuke," Sakura repeated as she felt her face heating up.

Why?

Well because Sasuke was hugging her. Yep.

Sakura thought that Sasuke would soon let go, but he just hugged her tighter. Sakura stopped talking, and decided to put out in her mind why Sasuke was doing this. She wanted to push him away, but she just ended up hugging him too.

"Sakura." Sasuke uttered as he rested his forehead on Sakura's shoulder, still hugging her protectively.

"Sorry but, I think I'm jealous."

That sentence caught her off guard. Jealous? Of who?
