“What do you mean you are not going to attend the party?”

That was Liza; she came over to her place with Tony. According to her friends, Rosh network will hold a party to break the ice.

“Come on, it’s just a small group.” said Tony. “It’s not really a ball or big party; it’s just a dinner party with music.”

“And who will be there?” Ely asks her friends, Levy is playing some Lego with her.

“The executives, producer, our director, some friends like me and Tony.”

“And Josh Scurlock” Ely is agitated.

“Of course he will be there.” Tony said “He’s the lead role and Anna Vender will be there of course” Tony winked at them. He likes her.

“I don’t think I can come, I can’t leave Levy.”

“You had your book signings, you’ve been gone for weeks and you left Levy with your parents.” Liza is surprised with Ely’s excuse. “Why can’t you leave Levy for just one night?”

Ely didn’t answer.

“Levy sweetheart, look at Uncle Tony will you?”

Levy looked at Tony.

“Your mommy needs to work tomorrow evening, you’ll be okay with Grandpa and Grandma, Right?”

“Yeah” Levy smiled.

“See” Liza said “Stop making excuses Ely, we both have a suspicion and if you don’t go to the party Tony and I will have the confirmation we need.”

“What confirmation? What suspicion?” Ely is confused.

“You know.” Tony rests his arm on the couch, “Your daughter, her face looks familiar to us.”

‘Oh, great,’ Ely said to herself, her Levy maybe a girl but she looked exactly like his father.

“He’s not the father alright.” Ely convince her friends.

“Who?” Liza restrained her smile.

“Okay, okay, I will attend the party.”

“Great” Tony snaps his fingers. “We will pick you up at seven.”

Ely nods.

DINNER PARTY:

Johnny Scurlock welcomed them; He introduced Ely to some people involved with the project. Ely look around, her attention is not with the group of people Johnny introduced to her.

“Your hero is not here yet.” Johnny said to her ears.

“I’m sorry?”

“Josh, he called and he said he will be late A had her tantrums again.”

“A?” Ely is confused.

“Anna Vender, the leading lady.”

‘So it’s true’ Ely said only to herself, rumor has it that Josh Scurlock, the sexiest man alive is dating the sexiest woman alive Anna Vender. Regardless of what happened Ely followed Josh career, he watched every movies he made. And she knows who he is seeing with.

It’s not that she’s interested; she’s a fan of course. But deep inside, she felt sorry for herself every time she heard dating news about Josh. Inside her heart there was this wishful thinking that she and Josh are together.

But then she had to face the fact, she’s just a one night stand for Josh. If she’s important Josh would find her, but he didn’t. The thoughts keep on pondering when she heard Johnny said.

“He’s here.”

Ely look at where Johnny is looking. Josh came in with Anna, ‘they look good together, as always’ Ely told herself. Josh and Anna walk straight to them. Johnny introduces her to Anna. They shake hands and exchange smiles.

“You’re the one who walked out at Rosh office.” Josh said.

‘Okay, that is humiliating’ Ely told herself. “I’m so sorry about that Mr. Scurlock.” Ely smiled a little.

“Nah! Your agent told me you had an emergency. I’m looking forward working with you Miss Reyes.”

‘Miss Reyes’ Ely is kind of surprised, Josh seems don’t remember her. ‘That’s good’ she told to herself, but deep inside her she felt sad. For days she was hoping that Josh wouldn’t recognize her. Now that he didn’t there was sadness in her.

Ely realized the phrase she once read in a book. ‘It’s okay when you are hoping or thinking of something but when it happened and it’s finally coming true it hurts.’ That’s exactly how she feels. She’s hurt that Josh doesn’t remember her or anything from Jersey.

‘How many virgin girls does he have?’ Ely can’t avoid questioning that. It’s not like it’s a big deal but still…

“A penny for your thought?”

Ely turn her look to the person who talks.

“I’m Kyle” He smiled at her.

“Our director” Johnny said. “Welcome back to earth Ely, your mind seem to wander.”

“I’m sorry” Ely smiled and reaches her hand to Kyle “I’m Ely.”

“Finally we meet, looking forward to work with you, I was told our writer is beautiful, but I never thought you’re this captivating.”

‘Captivating’ Ely can’t help but remember. She looked at Josh and she noticed something in his eyes, the way he looked at her. ‘Oh my God does he remember?’
