78. 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘓𝘈𝘋𝘠 𝘐𝘕 𝘉𝘓𝘈𝘊𝘒

(No one's POV)

Hot tears were streaming down y/n's face as she flew through the dark forest, pushing away branches and leaves to form her own path away from what she left behind. She didn't know what to do, where to go, or who she's running from. But what she was sure of is that she couldn't stay here. She couldn't. Because here she'd have to pick a side, she couldn't bring herself to betray Shuichi, but she couldn't betray Shoto and Keigo and Bakugou and everyone else. She needed to find another way to help, because she wouldn't be able to here.

Shoto clutched the feather tightly against his heaving chest, his dual coloured eyes blown wide open. He walked around frantically, searching for his winged lover while repeatedly whispering 'no' to himself. All the bodies lying around, either injured or dead, overwhelmed Shoto. He had no idea what she meant with 'I love you' and 'I will see you soon?'. Was she injured? Or worse, dead? Did the villains take her? What was going on?

The sight of Midnight's body made him flinch, he looked away and continued his search. He felt a little relieved when he got a peak of Keigo's blond hair and he was being loaded into an ambulance. He sprinted towards the medics that were treating him, desperate to find an answer to his questions. "Are you injured?" The medic who took Keigo from y/n asked. Shoto shook his head.

"I've been treated. Is he going to be okay?" He asked, the medic nodded. "We think so, with the right treatment he'll recover soon." "Do you know who brought him here?" She squinted, trying to recall who. "Oh yeah, his sister carried him here on her back and flew back to fight." The medic responded while waving for her coworkers to move a cart filled with supplies. "Was she okay?" He pressed further.

"Yeah she just had a couple of bruises and blood on her face, but I don't know if it was hers or someone else's. But she didn't let us examine her, she just handed him before going back into the field." "When was that?" The medic pursed her lips. "About an hour or two ago. I'm pretty sure she hasn't come back here ever since. If she's missing then we can send out an MIA alert to the people searching the fields, but other than that I'm afraid I have to leave and help out over there. Good luck with finding her."

She gave him a sympathetic pat on the shoulder before running back to her position so she can receive more patients to treat. He watched as the EMTs closed the ambulance doors, shielding the unconscious Keigo from prying eyes before driving off. Shoto sank to his knees, cradling his paled face with his shaking hands. "Not again... Please not again..." He whispered, a tear sliding down his cheek and onto the muddy, bloodstained ground.

"I can't let her go again.."

TWO DAYS LATER

"How did you find me?" y/n sighed, staring at the billboard showing a picture of her and her brother standing next to each other with the words 'Future hero duo?' printed above their heads. She was standing on the roof of one of the highest buildings in Tokyo, still in the suit she ran away in two days ago. Dried up blood stained her skin and clothes, along with her grey wings, who now had a reddish hue to them.

She hadn't slept since her night with Shoto on the roof, and it's safe to say that neither had he. Shoto buried himself in his work. His work being the mission that he had set for himself, the mission to find y/n, who unbeknownst to him had been running around and helping people in danger for the last two days.

"How very foolish of you to assume that I wouldn't place a tracker on your new suit, especially after I let you get close to those villains. I know how you have a tendency for rebellion y/n, I raised you after all." Hidou stood behind y/n, bony hands in the pockets of her long white coat. 'So does everyone expect the worst of me these days?' y/n thought. "You didn't raise me. Now what the fuck do you want from me?"
