Gloria kept her gaze on me for a while before taking out her phone
"What are you....." I was cut shut by her raising her index finger
I sat quietly for a while before I heard a beep. I picked up my phone and there was an alert
"TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS???" I was up on my feet and staring at my phone
"$5000 for my dress, $5000 for your dress"
I tilted my head
"My dress?" A dress for what?
"Get a dress for yourself so you could wear it to the event. It wouldn't be a bad idea to touch up a bit" she casually said
I looked at her like she just spoke French because this woman just gave me $10,000 like it was nothing
Like what the heck!!!
"I should um....I should get a...a dress" I repeated and she nodded
"Okay wow...I really...I really don't know what to say, thank you so much Gloria, thank you really" I intertwined my fingers together
"You're welcome" she gave me a smile
"But isn't this too much" I gestured at the phone
"It's not a problem Courtney. I'll be on my way now" she gets up
"Sure, thank you for introducing me to your friends and thank you for the money, I'm grateful" I truly am
"It's not a problem. Just so you know, I'll pick you up the day of the event but there's no grantee that I'll be able to bring you back"
"It's not a problem, it's really not" I said and she nods slightly
"Okay see you then" she opens the door and I shut it after she walks out
Wait did I just get $5000 to buy a dress?

Okay so I may have made a mistake by telling Sophia that Gloria gave me some money for a dress because as soon as she got into the house, she pulled me out and into a taxi all the way to a boutique.
"Soph c'mon" I groan while she pulled me through the boutique. I had just $5000 and she brought me to a place that looked like the close would cost as much as the Martinez net worth
"What do think about this green one" she points at a mint green dress on a mannequin
"Sophia this dress looks expensive" I sigh
"I doubt it is" she signals for the sales attendant
"Sorry please how much is this dress?" She asked her
"It's $15,000" she said with a smile
I tried so hard to muffle my laughter but it was really really hard
"Sorry?" Sophia asked
"$15,000" the lady repeated
"Oh um, alright thank you" immediately the lady walked away, I burst into laughter
"You...you should see your face...oh God" I tried to say in between my laughs
"Oh shut up and lets get out of here"

After we left the boutique, I came up with an idea. I decided to just buy a pretty fabric and sew something for myself instead of spending so much money on a dress.
We got into the store and I looked around for a fabric to buy. I checked out a few fabrics and my eyes finally fell on one
"I like this one" I told Sophia as I reached and picked it up
"Wow it's pretty" she ran her fingers on it
It was a red elastic fabric with glitters all around it, it was beautiful.
I walked over to the cashier and asked
"Please how much is this?"
She ignored me. She just kept on operating her phone, totally ignoring me
"Um excuse me, she just asked you a question" Sophia said to her and the lady finally looked at us.
She looked us up and down and said
"I'm sure it's too expensive for you both. Why don't you try the thrift store." And she went back to her phone
I bit my bottom lips and Sophia immediately attacked her
"You know just because you're working her doesn't make you richer than us shopping here right?"
"Anyone with eyes can tell that you guys can't afford this" she said without looking up from her phone.
I cleared my throat
"How much is it" I simple asked again
She let's out a sigh
"$3000"
I take out my card and point it towards her
She looks away from her phone and at my card
She just scoffs and take the card. She types something on the computer before swiping the card on the cash register
"Here" she hands it over along with a white plastic bag with the shop's logo
I take both and say "you know, I could've gone somewhere else but it's better to ignore trash, like honestly you're just trash
I walk out with Sophia, not even bothering to look back at the her

"Sophia please let's just go home"
"No, every good dress needs an amazing shoe"
I thought after getting the fabric we would go home, but she dragged me to a shoe store. I don't think there enough money in my account to get a new shoe buy nope, Sophia's not even bothered about that.
I stood beside her while she kept searching for a shoe and one of those shoes caught my eye, a really beautiful shoe

I walked over and I picked up the shoe, I put on one pair and it fit perfectly
"Oh wow" Sophia let out a gasp
"Isn't it pretty?"
"It's beautiful, we're taking it right?"
I would be lying if I said I didn't love this shoe
"C'mon" she pulled me to the cashier
"Please how much is this?" She askes the lady
"Oh that, it's $6000" she politely said
Nothing like that sadistic moron
"Ah shit" I whisper, I really like this shoe
"Seems like you really want that shoe" she said with an apologetic smile
"We can't always get what we want" I shrugged, giving a small smile
"Let's go check for something cheaper and prettier" Sophia puts her hand on my shoulder
