chapter 35:first day

hand in hand the two walked to the school field at 4 in the morning ready for their practice 

it had stopped raining an hour ago but it was still pretty chilly 

"do you wanna practice?" he asked still his hand with her 

"We have a match today jake obviously I have to" she smiled and pulled her hand away walking to the locker room 

dramatically he placed his hand on his chest and whined "COME SOON BABY" 

she laughed at him "SHUT UP" 

"so what do you think will happen today," she asked him while the two were doing their warm-up rounds around the field 

"I have faith in y'all and besides this is an easy team to win against don't worry" he looked at her and smiled assuringly 

"Woah the drastic character change I cant- I mean the grim ruthless cold bastard has a soft side?" she blurted out not knowing that those adjectives now belonged to her boyfriend 

he stopped running and had a blank face 

"oh- WAIT I DIDNT MEAN THAT FUCK NO AH JAE ARE YOU HIGH," she asked herself and walked to him 

"wait what do you want me to say? do you want me to apologize? or you know what suck it up loser" she panicked

"Wow I didn't know disobedient Jae had a cute panicking side" he took his revenge and blew on her hair and started running 

"YOU FREAKING ASS! WHAT A DRAMA QUEEN, WAIT UNTIL I GET MY HANDS ON YOU" she yelled and chased him 

"Today is your 4th match like I had told y'all it's the most important one, it's gonna decide whether you qualify or not but we don't want the negative stuff in here so I want each one of you to do your 100% because you will be the ones regretting this later not me-" he paused to look at Jae who has her eyes scrunched at the sudden harshness of him on the team "oh well just don't put your guard down too soon you can leave for the bus," he said and moved away from the entrance of the locker room 

most of them went out of the locker leaving Jae with her friends and iseul and sera who were packing up 

Jae went to minji's ears and whispered "I'm applying a smudge-proof lip balm now"

minji was confused with her and whispered back "what the fuck do you mean" Jae's face was a centimetre away from minji and with all of her might she smacked her head 

"OW YOU BITCH" she yelled and shut her locker 

"great I shook that head of yours now use it a bit" she backed off a bit and walked away with her stuff to where jake was 

"do you want me to sit with you or should I sit with semi and minji" she whispered to him knowing that sera was here and she didn't want her to make a scene there 

"you can sit anywhere you want I'm ok with it but won't the team be sus if we sit together on the bus" 

"yea that's right ok so I'll see you around," she said and walked back to where minji was holding her head and her eyes widen processing what had just happened there

"yes yes yes please tell me-" she cut herself when Jae nodded and threw her arms around Jae 

"ew back off" she pushed her away but minji didn't budge 

sera looked at the two hugging and rolled her eyes in disgust 

"stop the public display of affection ew," she said and went to where Jake was on his phone "can we sit together on the bus?" she asked loud enough for the two to hear
