Hi Percashippers! Sorry, this one's a bit late. I've had a lot of exams and assignments so I didn't get a lot of time to update. I also had an iron infusion on the weekend so... Yeah. Anyway, enough about me this is about Percabeth, this is FINALLY the chapter they go on a date. So buckle in peeps!

Annabeth's pov
This dress makes you look fat.

Ugh. I couldn't find anything to wear because everything looked wrong, and I knew it wasn't the clothes that were the problem.

It was me.

I had no idea why Percy thought I was pretty or why he liked me in the first place. But I knew after this date he'd probably realise that I wasn't worth it.

Percy was hot and there were girls at school that were into him, so I had no idea why he was going out with me. He said something about liking me but I had yet to find the reason why I definitely wasn't anything special.

After a few minutes, I settled on a floral print dress because it was the only one that didn't show my way to skinny arms since I'd worn a turtle neck underneath. I put on my favourite black heels, It was weird, but I really liked heeled shoes because they made me feel a little confident. It might have also been because my best friend was 6,0 foot.

My makeup wasn't that hard to do since I had years of experience from all those dance recitals, though I didn't do it quite so cakey. It's was natural with eyeliner and light pink lipstick.

I opened the drawer of my vanity and grabbed a pearl necklace. The last gift my mother gave me before she had decided she never wanted to see me again. I knew it was a bribe present to get me to choose her in court but I didn't care because it was the only thing I had of 'her' and I couldn't blame her, I'd always known it was my fault anyway.

As I was clasping the necklace around my neck I heard someone open the door

As I was clasping the necklace around my neck I heard someone open the door.

"Annabeth, do you need any help with your hair?" Helen said as she came to stand behind me.

"Um sure."

Helen started to braid the front strands of my hair, leaving a few so she could frame my face. She didn't need to ask what I liked, she'd known me since I was eleven, she was practically like a mother. She cared about me more than my mother ever would.

Sometimes I'd receive a birthday or Christmas card from her, but it was never anything personal. Never an invitation to come to visit her, or one to even call her. I didn't even remember what she sounded like, all I had was an old faded photo of her when she was my age.

Dad had thrown away all the photos of her, he always said it was because we were better off without her. Whenever I'd ask about why they split, he'd say. "Sometimes things just don't work out and that's okay, I'm sorry she never talks to you, I don't why. You're so amazing and you'll grow up to great things, I just know it." Then we'd forget about it and instead pretend that we were pirates or royalty, whichever one we felt like.
