He lets them cry if they need to, but hugs them and brushes through their hair. Sherlock loves it when you brush his hair when he's upset, so it's a habit he now does for your child.

If your young child has a nightmare, he'll let them sleep in your room and even in your bed if they want to. It lets him carry on sleeping, but also helps them feel safe.
MORIARTY

He'll make them laugh. He will dance with them and play with them until they laugh and feel better. He even does it when they are older, and then still does it when your upset too.
LESTRADE

He'll take them for a walk. Walking always helps him calm down and feel better, so he'll carry your child, hold their hand or wheel them in a pushchair until they calm down.
MYCROFT

Read to/ for your child. Your child has always loved to read, and you understand how it can help them escape the real world - even if just for a few minutes. So Mycroft will always read to them if they are upset.
