It was a heated argument, but every time you tried to say something he'd cut you off and talk over you. When you finally shouted over him, his hands rose and you flinched. They wrapped into his hair, but he already deduced what you thought he was going to do. He's ashamed at his behaviour, and he understands why you would think that, but it still hurts and he would stay silent for a few days.

He punches the wall in frustration and at that moment, your arms fly up to protect your face. He immediately calms down and almost cries as he realises what he did. He makes it a promise to sort out his anger before it becomes more of an issue, and will try to separate while he works on it. Whether you choose to stay with him while he's getting help is up to you.

He would never even think to hurt you, so when you flinch away from him, it really hurts. He understands that you can be scared of his job, but just a verbal argument doesn't mean he's going to hit you. He'd need to at least take a walk and calm down before talking to you about it - he doesn't want to cry in front of you or scare you more.

He can't believe that you think he would do something like that, but he doesn't want to see you cry either. He'd bite back is pain to open his arms to you. If you want to hug him, the offer is there - he doesn't like leaving arguments on a bad note.

You were both shouting at each other, and he put his hand out to you to stop you moving back because he thought you were going to fall over. You flinched and threw him an angry look before storming off. He'd spend the whole night by the fire with his head on his hand, just waiting for you to come back so he can explain everything. He doesn't care how long it takes, he'll be waiting.
