He wanted to look smarter than Mycroft, so he challenges him to a game of deductions. He gets something seemingly obvious (to him anyway) wrong which tinges his cheeks pink while he stares at Mycroft - completely embarrassed but still fighting to hide it.

It's very obvious when he's embarrassed. His head shrinks into his shoulders while his eyebrows raise with the widening of his eyes.
MORIARTY

He gets angry when he's embarrassed, arguing with the nearest person as his cheeks flush red. It takes you calming him down and moving past it for him to feel better.
LESTRADE

He always covers his face with his hands, as if to stop people looking at him. Later on, he's the kind of person who will joke about it but will quickly want to move on.
MYCROFT

He'll be thinking about the situation for days after, regretting his words or actions as he worries. He calms down when you tell him that people aren't thinking about the embarrassing thing he did - they are too busy thinking about all the embarrassing things they did.
