You're always borrowing his scarf, so for your birthday he gifts you one exactly like his. He didn't buy it or ask Mrs. Hudson to knit it, instead he made it himself. It didn't take him too long to learn but he stayed awake each night to knit it. It's so thoughtful of him, and to add one final small detail he sprays it with some of his cologne - now you can snuggle with his scent even when he's out solving a case.
