chapter 24.

I can only imagine what it would like to watch this from an outsiders view, the tension was unbearable and I'm pretty sure we were making everyone else in the fairly small waiting room very uncomfortable.

"If you had feelings for her why did you always come running back to me?" Lauren breathed out in barely above a whisper.
"BECAUSE I LOVED YOU. I STILL LOVE YOU. I'M NEVER GOING TO STOP AND IT SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF ME." I confessed, I just told her that I still lover her whilst her girlfriend is laying in a back a few doors down about to wake up and find out if she will ever walk again.
"I hate that. I hate that you love me and I, I hate that I'm in love with you too." She confessed.
"You should go and see if there is any news on your girlfriend." I said putting extra stress on the word girlfriend.

After I said that it was almost like she snapped out of a daze, she looked around the room at all the pairs eyes on us.
She gave me one last look before making a hasty exit.

Eva was awake. She complained of a bad headache which was expected but she didn't complain of any pain in her stomach or her legs, that worried me.

"Y/N. Is Lily alright?" Eva asked as soon as she laid eyes on me. Typical Eva thinking about everybody else before herself.
"She was a bit shaken after it happened but Dani's mother kindly took her into school, I think she'll be alright. Thank you, for doing what you did." I said before placing a kiss on her cheek.
"Your my best friend, I would do anything for you and your family and plus I think any good citizen would do what I did." She replied modestly.
"I'm so thankful. I better leave you two alone. I'll be in the waiting room if you need me." I said before exiting the room.

"Y/N, how are you feeling?" My dad asked as he took a seat next to me in the waiting room of the hospital.
"Guilty. I feel like it's my fault. Heartbroken. Lauren and I had a fight and I said somethings that I probably shouldn't have and she said that she was in love with Eva. She's officially out if my grasp now." I filled him in whilst looking down at the floor.
"You are a Y/L/N. We don't give up." My dad reminded me whilst placing a hand on my shoulder.
"There's no point in trying. She was my first love. I love her, I really love her and I fucked it up and hurt her so many times that now she hates me. She'll never want me back and it's all my fault." I responded, I felt tears forming in my eyes.
"I wouldn't be too sure about that. Fate can work in weird ways sometimes." I heard a familiar husky voice that I loved so much say.
"Yo...you heard all of that?" I stuttered out.
"Every word, if you don't mind Mr Y/L/N I would like to talk to Y/N. Can I take her on a walk?" Lauren asked my father who couldn't push me out of my chair and toward Lauren fast enough.

Lauren took me to a small coffee shop on the edge of Sydney, she drove me there and we didn't speak for the whole journey instead I enjoyed listening to Lauren quietly sing along to the radio.
"I just want to start by saying I'm sorry." She spoke after we both got our drinks and sat down at a table.
"I said some terrible things and I didn't mean any of them." She continued.
I took a sip from my drink before speaking.
"I deserved it all, I hurt you so much and now I've caused Eva to get hurt and I just can't seem to do anything right." I say and I feel Lauren place her hand on top of mine.
"Eva broke up with me." Lauren told pulling her hand away from mine.
"Oh." Was all I had to say.
"She said that she thought I wasn't fully there when I was with her. She told me to let her go and go to my true love." She explained.
"So that's what I'm doing from now on." She finished.
"Lauren it isn't some big quest. You can't go out looking for true love, true love just finds you." I explained.
"Well maybe I want to help fate a little bit." She defended.
"Well be sure to keep updated on how your big search goes. Won't it be difficult though?" I returned.
"How so?" She questioned before taking another sip from cup.
"Well you are on tour right now which means you will be travelling all over the world. How can you possibly have a stable relationship with someone who you haven't known long if you will be travelling all over the world?" I asked getting annoyed. Can't she just open her god damn eyes. She just shrugged.
"What about us?" I questioned.
"I know I love you but I think it's best if we are just friends. I'm sorry." She explained.
"It's what I expected." I replied followed by an awkward pause.
"Where are you going?" I asked as she approached me.
"It Wednesday. If I remember correctly from Miami, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays you pick Lily up from school. Her school ends in half an hour so I'll drive you there then I'll take you home and we can hang out there or we can go and see the girls or go and visit Eva." She reminded me and then suggested what we do after.
"As much as I want to be there for Eva I just feel so guilty and I think Kyle, Dash and Jacob are visiting her." I told.
"So are we going to your place or my hotel?" She asked in a way which could sound very suggestive if we weren't just friends.
"Well, I really miss the girls so maybe we could visit them and then you could spend the night at my house, that is if you want to and if you have nothing to do tomorrow." I rambled and she smiled.
"I would love that. We need to spend time together if we are together anyway if we want to get our friendship back." She informed me before she started making her way out of the coffee shop, I followed closely behind her as soon as we stepped outside Lauren was stopped by some fans. But tue weirdest thing was they still recognised me, I know I toured with them but I was just the guitarist who was dating Lauren.

What if they think we are back together? Not that that would be a bad thing, it's just not the truth.

"Well I certainly won't miss that." Lauren said to me once we were both safely inside of the car and away from her fans.
"What do you mean you won't miss it?" I questioned.
"It must've slipped my mind in the cafe," she started.
"What slipped your mind?" I cut in.
"I'm leaving Fifth Harmony." She finished.
"Do the girls know?" I asked in shock.
"Not yet. I'm going to tell them when we visit them later." She explains.

She's giving up her dream.
