"Oh, yes please." Annabeth took one from the tray, she didn't even question the blue dye. Weird. "These are amazing, Ms. Jacks- I mean Sally."
"I'm glad you like them, at least someone has manners." Mom said staring at me. I rolled my eyes.
My Mother and Annabeth hit it off and I just sat there and agreed with everything they said like the awkward human being I am. At least she didn't show any of my baby photos.

"Thank you so much for the cookies Sally, the twins are going to love them." Annabeth said taking the small plastic container from my mother.
"You're welcome dear, goodbye."
"Bye," I said closing the door behind her. I finally felt my muscles relax. I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm a freak. Why do I say that? Because every sentence that came out of my mouth was either completely wrong or half-formed. Her looks were going to be the death of me. She was too beautiful not to stare at, and it drove me insane. No one else ever made me feel this way, except her. And unfortunately for me, God has given me the curse of awkwardness, so I can't think up a smooth line for the life of me. It's great.
"What a sweet girl." Mom said finishing up the blue pasta for dinner.
"Yeah, " I said twiddling my thumbs.
"Pretty too, wouldn't you say Honey?" Pretty, more like gorgeous. There was no denying it Annabeth Chase was breathtaking. Literally.
"Where are you going with this Mom?"
"Nowhere."
"Really? Cause you've got that 'look' on your face." I narrowed my eyes at her.
"What look?" She said offended.
"The look you give me whenever you supposedly know something I don't.." I stated.
"I don't know what you mean, but anyway can you set the table for dinner." Mom said changing the subject.
So I started setting the table for three; Me, Mom and my stepdad, Paul Blofis who also happens to be my English teacher. And then Paul walked through the door, which gave Mom the opportunity to humiliate me even more.
"Hey, Sweetie do you know who Annabeth Chase is?" Of course, she wasn't going to drop the subject.
"Wait, You mean the blonde that Percy's always staring at in class?" He said naively not knowing what he had just done.
"Ha, I knew it." She yelled like a madman.
"Knew what?" I said trying to play dumb and failing miserably like I always do. At everything.
"Oh, You like her don't you." Paul said finally catching on.
"No, we're just good friends." I was a terrible liar. Why can't I be good at something for once?
"Percy you can't lie to me I'm your mother, just admit it I won't say anything." She said, obviously about to say something. Paul was watching this conversation like it was a tennis match, Paul doesn't even like tennis.
"There's nothing to admit." I said nonchalantly. At least I think I said it nonchalantly.
"Fine, if you don't admit it." She paused to think up a threat. "Then no more blue cookies for you." How could she. That's a crime against humanity, I mean I love my mother but this was just cruel.
"No not my cookies, fine I'll admit it." I said giving in. "I may like Annabeth a little bit." The little bit part was a lie, I liked her a lot.
"See that wasn't so hard." Mom grinned in victory. "I guess you can have a cookie, but only one."
"This is called blackmail, " I said grabbing one.
"I don't think so."
" Yeah, Whatever." I said munching on the cookie.
"Wait can we pause for a second?" Paul said confused. " So you like Annabeth right?" He said glancing at me.
"Um, yeah." I said blushing.
"Percy, Why don't you just ask her out?" Paul said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. Ok it was to be fair. But it's not like I haven't thought about asking her out before, it's just that I don't think she would say yes. I mean come on she could have any guy or girl that she wanted. So why would she choose me, I'm nothing special. I'm just Percy Jackson; the guy who's not good at anything except skateboarding. And she's Annabeth Chase; The girl who's good at everything.

And that's one more done. What did you think?
I kept my promise it is longer than the first chapter. But honestly, I've noticed that I tend to write a lot of dialogue. Is that a bad thing? Please tell me.
Also one more thing, I'm going to be on hiatus for the whole of next month because of Ramadan (fasting). I'll try to write if I have time, I'm not sure tho. I know I said updates every two days but you guys please just bear with me.
