"Elba"
I like stark things.
They remind me of Elba.
Stark eyes through stark frost
on a stark window pane
30 miles away from the edge of a landscape.
There are some things in life,
some people, that you really
never know.
One moment you see wise old eyes
staring through think soupy glass
and, in the next, you find yourself in
Rochester,
trying to ignore things,
people, that you really
never
knew.
