Chapter 39

ALESSIA

Getting out of the car and opening up the back door, I took Alena out of her seat. As soon as her feet touched the ground, she made eye contact with Jessica. She squealed and took off running towards Jessica with her arms up in the air. Jessica squatted down and spread her arms out ready to embrace her. As they made contact. Jessica falls back, bear hugging Alena so now they are both on the ground squealing and rolling around giggling.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head, they are always both so dramatic.

As they both got up, Jessica picked her up. We walked inside towards Alena's class. The other kids called out Alena's name trying to get her attention. When Jessica put her down, she ran off to a small group of her friends and began playing. She had the biggest smile on her face.

As the 3 of us walked out, we were standing there. It felt very awkward. I really didn't know what to say.

"Hey before you see Molly, we need to talk to you. There are things you need to know. We found some stuff after you left and it has involved you." She said. I nodded my head and we walked out the back door and into the garden.

We kept walking until we were at a good distance from the house and away from anyone else. There was a beautiful lake at the far end of the garden and we sat at the edge of the water on a big bench.

I was mesmerized at the sight. I've never been back here before but I love it. It's so peaceful. As I was taking it all in, I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard Jessica's voice.

"I wanted to start off apologizing to you again. Emily and I knew from the beginning that this shouldn't have been kept from you. We wanted to tell you right away when we found out but Jaxson was so confused, he begged us to wait till he figured things out." Jessica said.

"How did you find out?" I asked

"I found out the night you were screaming at him in your room. After I found out he slept with you, we got into an argument, I ran into the woods. He chased after me because I was really upset that he did that. I was starting to put the pieces together and he confirmed it. When I got back, I was mad that he made me promise not to tell you and I went to Emily. Since then, we always pushed for him to tell you." She said. She wiped her face with her hands.

She told me that Jake found out when Jaxson got into that fight with Micah at the alpha's meeting. Then she told me what Micah really said. I couldn't help but shake my head.

"Last night, Becca and Amy were banished by Jax from our pack." Emily said. My head snapped so fast in her direction. I did not expect that.

"Becca is not having Jaxson's baby. After he kissed you, being so close to you, he felt a strong connection to your babies. He said his wolf immediately went into a frenzy, wanting to protect them. He realized he never felt that way with Becca and her baby. He called Molly and she confirmed that Becca couldn't be carrying his child. He confronted Becca and she admitted it." Jessica said almost in one breath.

I couldn't help but stare at her with my mouth wide open. I was utterly shocked. Out of all the lies and secrets, I never expected to find out that she cheated. I really thought she loved him. WOW.

"The craziest part is, she doesn't even know who the father of her baby is! She slept with James and Micah on the same night so it could be either of theirs." She said.

"Wait, what? Did you say she slept with Micah and James the same night? Together?" I asked.

"Not together. She had sex with James and Micah walked in. He was furious. He kicked James out. Becca and him got into a big fight and she claims she was scared so when he came on to her, she allowed it. Of course I think that's bullshit but that's what she said." Emily said.

Saying that I was pissed was an understatement. My blood was boiling yet again. I just spoke to them this morning and they lied to me. Micah said it's been 2 years since he's spoken to her. There were plenty of chances for him to tell me.

Once again, if he had, I couldn't have been mad at him. He's not my man, he didn't betray me by being with her. No, he kept it secret to manipulate the situation to help keep me away from Jax.

What else is he lying to me about? This is a lot to take in.

"Alessia there is one more thing we need to tell you. Jaxson has reason to believe that Micah is trying to start a war between our 2 packs. Yesterday, he got news that Micah has been contacting other packs in the area discussing alliances. Usually this is done in the beginning of the year when treaties are negotiated and renewed. It's not normal to do this. Jaxson is on the phone now trying to find out what is going on, seeing if anyone will tell him what Micah's plans are. Ours and Micah's pack were equally as big, ours being considered stronger in training. If he were to get other packs to join him, that would mean many of our pack could die. You being Jaxson's mate, if something were to happen to you then Jaxson would be physically weak." Emily said.

I felt a pain in my chest at the thought of what she said could be true. I may be angry with Jaxson but I don't want him dead. The one thing I know for sure is that I will not be used as a weapon against him. Tears filled my eyes. I turned away because I didn't want them to see.

This doesn't change things right now. I'm not going to run and forgive Jaxson. I do have a lot to figure out.
