Kabanata 36 : Skydiving

I thought he was joking that time but he literally stayed true to his words.

After a week form our lunch date in Nuvali, he asked me to go to Zambales with him.

"You're joking right?" I asked while I was seated on the shot gun seat.

"I'm not? Takot ka ba?" He said cockily. Por que nasubukan na niya, if I know part ata ng training iyon ng mga air force.

"Hindi ako takot, I really want to do that nga e'." I said without hiding my tone of excitement.

I really love doing extreme adventures but I didn't have the time.

"Kailan ka pa naging conyo?" tanong niya kaya sinimangutan ko siya. I lived in the states for years and that's why.

"I lived in the states," I voiced out shrugging.

"Tulog ka muna, it will be a long drive." he mentioned while looking directly at the road.

"Nah, I'll keep you company," I answered but I dozed off after thirty minutes of staring at the wide fields.

Ginising niya ako at mukhang nagpipigil ng tawa. I just pouted because I said I'll stay awake and keep him company pero nakatulog ako. We stopped over at a gasoline station and we ate at army navy tapos we're back on the road again.

"Tulog ka na uli," he said and I glared at him pero palang wala lang iyon sa kaniya. "Alam ko lagi kang puyat. You now look like a raccoon." He said and I hit his arm. "Hey, I'm driving!" Angal niya pero natatawa.

"Itigil mo yung sasakyan nang masapak kita," pero tawa pa rin nang tawa 'tong lalaking 'to.

"Oh, I'm scared," He joked and I rolled my eyes. Mukha kaming batang nag-aaway, 'yung isa pikon tas 'yung isa naman mapang-asar.

We argued for about an hour. Talagang nag-aasaran lang kami kaya hindi na rin ako nakatulog. Nang makarating kami sa Iba ay dumiretso kami sa skydiving center. We brought clothes with us kasi sabi niya mag-oovernight kami sa isang beach resort na malapit. Matagal na rin simula nung huli akong makapunta sa beach.

May mga ilan kaming kasabay sa briefing. Nakinig lamang ako sa lahat ng sinasabi ng instructor at hindi ko mapigilan ma-excite lalo.

Pagkatapos non ay binigyan na kami ng gears at sky diving outfit. Jac was beside the whole time, except sa magbibihis syempre.

"I'll finally be able to do this," Bulong ko sa sarili ko. Nagulat ako nang lumitaw si Jac sa tabi ko at hinawakan ang kamay ko.

"Ready?" He asked.

"More than ready," I answered and pulled him.

We rode a helicopter at nagtataka ako kung bakit wala kaming kasamang professional skydiver. Literal na kaming dalawa lang ni Jac at iyong pilot, don't tell me...

"I'll be your guide today," He said to my ear. Lumakas tuloy ang tibok ng puso ko.

He fixed the harness and the other gears. Nang nasa drop off point na kami ay nag-ready na kaming tumalon.

"Do you trust me?" Jac said in a loud voice.

"I trust you!" I yelled back kahit parang tatakasan na ako nang puso ko sa sobrang bilis ng tibok nito.
