»Now, where was I before Sailor Moon interrupted me?« Dark pretended to think.
   »You destroyed Celine.«
»Right. Celine's mind got separated from her body during an accident,« the white eyed man corrected him. For some reason, it seemed to be important to him that it had been an accident.
»Marvin was an absolute beginner when it happened. Barely had his first out of body experience yet. But he was hellbent on getting revenge. I must admit, he was persistent. His hate towards me motivated him, and not even half a year later, he was constantly on my heels. Of course, he was no match for me back then. We kept the game of cat and mouse going for a while. But it wasn't enough for him. He wanted to see me bleed.«

Unus shook his head. That didn't sound like the Marvin he knew at all. Then again, it lined up with what he had told them. Plus, there had been real hate in his eyes when they had captured Dark.
»He did something stupid. Someone studying the arcane arts must be fully connected to their emotions. All of them are important, and even the darkest feeling is needed. But they need to be balanced. In his relentless pursuit, he stopped caring about that balance. On the contrary, he channelled all of his negative emotions into hunting me down. But the final ingredient was this.« He took the casket shaped vial out of Unus's hand.
   »Your blood.«
»Coming from the Upside Down, it was full of negative associations. When he ingested it, it was as if a dam had broke. He became an immensely powerful, very unstable megalomaniac.«

Unus finally had enough. »Why do I not believe you. I know Marvin, he'd never do something like this.« He got up, standing face to face with Dark.
»Do you?« The white eyes leaned forward. »Don't avert your eyes from the truth, Unus. Don't tell me you don't feel it as well.«
Unus held still for a second. Feel what? But he didn't have to ask out loud. There was an uneasiness pulsing through the Machine. Cold waves swept over them in irregular patterns. He thought that Dark's energy had been chaotic, but it felt almost calm compared to this one.
Annus picked up on it as well. »What is that?« He shivered as another wave hit them. They felt like spasms, or glitches.

»Anti's waking up,« Dark said in an ominous tone. »He'll be here soon.«
»Wait what?« Unus was fully alert. »Are we going to fight him? What if Blank's with him? We can't...«
Dark cut him off. »We can. It wasn't me who burst the seal band. You tore it from my arm. Do you know what that means Unus?«
Unus blinked, took a deep breath and straightened his back. »I can keep up with Marvin.«
He walked over to Annus, took the amulet from him, and crushed it in his hand. The spell broke with it, and Annus reverted back to the white suit (which was way easier to look at.) To his great disappointment, the beard did not reappear.
He quickly turned to Dark (who luckily still had his). »How much time do we have left?«
»He can break through any moment now. Then, we'll maybe have five to ten minutes until he's here.«

Unus cleared his mind, taking a moment to appreciate the irony that he was using the techniques Marvin taught him. Then, he began to prepare himself for the upcoming fight.
