30 ~ Frenemies

"Don't worry. I'm pretty good at keeping secrets," I said and then it immediately made me think about Robby.

I hadn't seen him again since the grill with Tory and I was just happy he was trying to somewhat calm her down. I knew she was our biggest threat and without Robby by her side who knows what she would do.

It kinda made me uncomfortable how close Robby and her were becoming, but I knew I just had to focus on the plan and the fact that this was all some scheme so he could be trusted. I missed hanging out and training with him a lot, but I figured it would never go back to how it was considering how him and Miguel left things.

I had debated telling Miguel about the plan a couple of times, but I knew it was safer if I didn't. I didn't like lying to him, but Robby trusted me with this information and I didn't want to break that. I knew it would be hard to get Johnny and my dad to believe me right away that Robby had just been lying for a couple months, but I had practiced a whole speech in my head getting ready for the day I was going to break the news to them.

[ Hawk's POV ]

Practice was finally over and I was starting to head out when I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"Hey man, how was practice?" Demetri said with a bright smile plastered on his face.

"Pretty good besides the whole Sam thing, but it should be fine now."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't worry about it," I said, chuckling a little.

"Well anyways, I was thinking we could maybe hang out or something, my parents are making your favorite dinner and said I should invite you over."

"Your mom's famous chicken parm just for me? I'm touched," I said smiling a little shocked that they all remembered how much I loved it since I hadn't been over in a pretty long time.

"Of course man, stop by around 6?"

"I'll be there," we smiled and went our separate ways to our cars.

*Ding Dong*

"Why hello Eli it's been so long!"

"Hi Mrs. Alexopoulos, how are you."

"I'm doing well! How about you?"

"Pretty good, pretty good! Training's been tough, but we're all getting through it."

"That's lovely! Well Demetri's just up in his room if you want to make your way over! Dinner will be in about an hour!"

"Awesome, thanks!"

Demetri's mom and I parted ways and I knocked on Dem's door.

"Hey it's me," I said slightly, opening the door.

"Oh hey dude, come in, come in!"

It was kind of awkward being back here. It was like a second home to me at one point, but now I hadn't been back in months. Everything in Dem's room was just how I remembered though. Shelves lined with comics and action figures. Walls filled with posters and academic awards.

"I'm not gonna bite you ya know you can sit down dude," Dem said pointing to multiple different places where I could sit in. One choice being next to him on his bed which I happily declined knowing I'd probably throw up from being so nervous.

I sat down in a gaming chair that was across from his bed and we chatted for a little while just catching up and talking about life like we used to until his mom called us down for dinner.

Both of his parents questioned me throughout all of dinner about things from school, to training, to any girlfriends in the picture which I awkwardly said no to. After dinner Dem and I went back up to his room and played some video games in which I got my ass beaten after growing a little rusty from not playing in forever.

After a couple hours of getting crushed and catching up, I decided to head home and we planned on hanging out again just to chill before Yasmine's party came around. It was kind of strange how normal everything felt after what happened and I was so grateful to Demetri for being able to make me feel comfortable again. It was almost like I truly had my best friend back.

Soon hopefully... he'd be more than that, but for now, it was awesome to just be in his life again. The right way.

Sorry there wasn't much to this chapter I just kind of wanted to make Sam and Hawk not want to kill each other anymore and then have a cute like friendship moment between Hawk and Demetri, but I promise more stuff will go down soon!!
