Leave Out All The Rest

DMITRI.

IT HAS BEEN 24 hours since the lawyer visited me here in jail. And here I am, lying on my hard mattress using both of my arms as a pillow while staring blankly at the ceiling of my isolated detention room.

Actually, he didn't told me the whole thing or the plan itself, but an explanation of his betrayal as my lawyer.

He told me not to waste his remaining visitation time, right? Then he should tell me all of his intent.

And priority of all that—more higher than pulling out me out—was his reason why he betrayed our camp. Ever since I had ran away, Why was the only thing that's comes into my mind.

Why did Lance do such thing when he's our very own lawyer? Why would he risk me, as his client, only to give himself a self-satisfaction regarding the case? And why would he still have the guts to show his dickhead face to me after that. What were his goal or motive to commit such justifiably unjust deed?

"Can't you forget about that?

"I have a father named Donovan McNabb Caxias, one of the most righteous man you've mentioned earlier, Lance," I told the lawyer sarcastically as I rolled my eyes at him, mimicking what he said.

Lance was still silent and was looking at me flatly, trying to hide his true emotions on me.

Somehow, I saw my own reflection on his eyes; Lance weren't the only one doing things he didn't want—unless there's a deeper reason to it that he—I mean, we—had to do it.

Until the lawyer averted his gaze away and raised both of his hands.

"We're not that close to tell you my reason aside from pulling you out here and win the trial," sabi nito sa akin, walang bahid ng ibang emosyon ang mukha at boses nito kundi katotohanan.

So... Mayroon nga?

"Fine."

I had a feeling it was personal and I'm not that foolish enough to meddle on his personal life.
