After our talk, I relaxed and focused more on my abilities. I embraced both sides, allowing them to work together. I also studied for finals to graduate high school.

I won't lie. I felt down about prom. I know, it's stupid to worry about something frivolous about a school dance. To me, it was necessary. I wanted the dress, music, hanging out with my friends, staying up all night, and being a teenager. Instead, I'm taking online classes, learning about my hybrid self, someone's mate, and having a baby. I sighed as I finished an English paper, then proofing it.

Silas sat in his bouncer and stared at me.

"Silas never grows up because a truck runs you over, and your life changes," I said.

Silas's brows furrowed as he flung his arms while kicking his legs.

"Yes, I know. That truck help creates you," I said.

Silas flailed his arms around as he kept kicking. I blew air past my lips as I studied Silas. He seems like a normal baby. I haven't seen anything strange happen to him. Besides eating, sleeping, babbling, and changing diapers, he appeared normal. Christian checks him and all tests are normal. The supernatural gene could have skipped Silas. One can hope.

I heard a knock at my bedroom door as I looked to see Mom holding a white box. I got up from my desk chair and walked over to her.

"Your father and I know you have felt cheated out of your senior year. We also know after you graduate, you'll move in with Erik permanently. This gift is for you," Mom said, handing me the box.

I gave her a perplexed look as I took the box and walked over to my bed. I laid it down and lifted the lid, revealing a prom dress. I pulled it out and held it up, staring at it in awe. The dress was made of satin and lace with an A-line look. It was even my favorite color of blue.

Mom wrapped her arm around my shoulders. I glanced up at her. "You didn't have to do this," I reasoned.

"Ana, some things are more important to certain people. There's nothing wrong with wanting a normal high school experience. Since a traditional prom is out, we improvised for you and the other kids," Mom explained.

"What about Silas?" I asked.

We heard babbling as Silas blew bubbles past his lips. We laughed.

"Your dad and I will take care of Silas tonight. Go and enjoy yourself," mom reasoned.

I smiled as I kissed her cheek and went to shower. I'm so excited to attend the prom. I washed up, rinsing off, then turned off the shower. I whipped open the shower curtain and realized how long it takes to get dressed. Well, shit.

I stepped out and closed my eyes. Let's see if I learned anything. I focused as the light engulfed me, then opened my eyes to see me dressed and my hair styled. Well, that saves me time.

I opened the bathroom door, emerging ready, and made my way to the living room. Mom was holding Silas as she smiled.

"Okay, I know I'm not supposed to use my powers for personal gain, but beauty takes time. The time I don't have," I reasoned.

"Honey, we'll give you a pass for tonight. Go have fun," mom said with a smile.

My dad smiled as I gave the three of them a kiss, then opened the door to see Erik standing there, dressed in a black suit.

"Why do I feel like you had something to do with tonight?" I asked.

Erik smiled, and I knew. As an alpha, he has to agree before they could do anything. I stepped onto the porch and closed the door.
