The day ran long and Arthur had just finished fighting early for want of food, as he called it. I left the Arthur secluded area in the trees near the plain of the battle field to go and fetch him some food. I left him with Lancelot who was also hungry but wanted to keep fighting he only receded to stay with Arthur when Arthur forcefully asked him to stay with him and have a meal and then go back to fighting in a full stomach. I could tell that Lancelot thought that going to eat so you would be stronger and have more stamina that everyone else on the field was cheating but he held his tongue on the matter.

When I came back to the forest area where I had left the two I found the area empty. Summoning my magic I cast a locator spell on Arthur and followed the small piece of cloth that was Arthur's when he was small. You have no idea how many times I've lost Arthur to his own curiosity or to him getting into trouble, that's why I carry this token.

I followed the small cloth further into the woods. Only after following it for thirty minutes into the woods and cross a stream did I know for a fact that something had happened to Arthur and Lancelot. It seemed like foul play but until I find them or a trace of blood or something similar but I didn't know for sure.

Further in and further into the woods I went until I finally found Lancelot and Arthur in the clearing with what looked like a female Saxon. I grabbed the cloth out of the air, dispelled the spell and hid behind a tree to find out what's going on. I listened to them both talk before the Saxon who was bound by her hands and tied to a tree while the two argued.

"I found her a month ago fighting. I've been lookin for her since." Lancelot said.

"So that's why you wanted to keep fighting. You wanted to keep this beauty all for yourself. But I am king and I saw her cleaning her weapon while we were waiting for food and I want her." Arthur said.

"But just because your the Prince doesn't mean that everyone should give you everything you want." Lancelot said.

"That's exactly what it means. I'm Prince so I get what I want and I want her." Arthur said sounding like a child.

"Your Prince Arthur?" The girl said shaking with rage.

"Yes that's right you know me don't you and you want to be with me right?"

She lunged at him grabbing a knife from under her top where her chest was and attacking him with her hands stilled tied. She managed to cut Arthur's shoulder, nothing deep but the Prince never being hurt like this before was shocked more from the act than the pain.

"What was that for?" Arthur said after he had gotten her under control and taken the knife from her, with considerable help from Lancelot.

She spit onto his face causing Arthur to stagger back in confusion and fury. I'll admit I had to stifle a laugh as I watched his face, he is two for two lately with women around him not falling for his charm first Eleanor and now this girl.

I decided not to uncover myself at all since Arthur and Lancelot were discussing going back to the woods were I would bring them food. They decide to leave the girl tied to the tree both saying that they would come back later and check on her. I watched as the two of them traipsed off the way we had all come leaving the girl behind.

Once gone I came out from bend the tree, "it's ok. It's ok. I won't hurt you. I just want to know who you are?" I said softly.

She looked unsure but answered, "Guinevere."

I sucked in a sharp breath, that was the name Eleanor had given me when she told me who was going to be Arthur's Queen. I bowed to her and said, "I'm sorry my lady, I will set you free immediately." And with that I cut the rope binding her hands and turned to go and serve food to Arthur and Lancelot.

"Wait." She said after I had taken a few steps away from her, "why are you letting me go?"

"Because it's polite and the Prince is wrong to leave you tied like cattle. But I would appreciate you not telling anyone about it." I said and watched as she laughed at me.

"When your Prince finds out what you've done, you will get into trouble." She said matter of factly.

"Who says he's going to find out. Besides do you want me to tie you back up to the tree." I said with a smile.

"I guess not but don't say I didn't warn you." She said, turning and walked off. I watched as her long black hair, that was in many braids, bounce off of her slender curvy form. She was attractive with those dark blue eye like looked like the middle of the ocean, I could see why Arthur and Lancelot found her attractive. I was hoping however that Eleanor was wrong about the two of them fighting over her affection, I don't think it would end well.

I headed back to the clearing with the food to ring an unhappy Arthur who was bitching about how long it took me to get the food. I can't help but think if he had to get the food himself if he would even know where to go.

The next week of fighting was tough, for all parties we pushed the front line forward once before being pushed back several times after that. Arthur is taking more time in his tent trying to figure out a way to win this war, and Lancelot has been sulking ever since the two of them found out the Guinevere got away, he doesn't spend as much time with Arthur anymore. The way things are going we are not going to win this war. Unless a miracle happens or something completely unexpected we are dead.
