SIXTIETH INSTALMENT

Adam came over that night but again nothing happened. He was a total gentleman. We went out for dinner it was Ava's week with Grant. I missed her dearly when she was away but she really enjoyed going to stay with Grant.

I forgot to mention that when I had Ava I did not put a fathers name on the birth certificate so the only name on there was a mothers name (mine) just before Grant and I got married he wanted to put his name on the birth certificate so we went in to the births death and marriages office in the city. He told the lady a lie and said he was the father and now wanted to be on the birth certificate. The lady just wrote his name on the birth certificate and later entered his details in the system. From that day forward he was on the birth certificate as her Dad.

I didn't mind her going over as she wanted her dad and this was the only one she knew. As much as I missed her it gave me time to sort myself out and get to know Adam.

Adam and I dated for 7 months and we would go out every weekend to the club. I spent so much time with him that the only time I got to see my friends was when I went out and this was my decision. Jodie and I went to the gym every morning but some mornings I would let her down as I just wanted to stay with Adam. After 8 months of being with Adam Jodie had joined the Navy and had to leave Western Australia so the gym was of less importance and this put a stop to me joining the police.

Adam moved in with Ava, Tina and I by this stage Kerrie and his partner had moved out as he didn't like Adam. He thought that Adam was taking too much of my time and was worried about me but I didn't appreciate it when he said it.

Adam had a best mate (Dave) that came over all the time. Over time he and Tina got really close and eventually started dating. Things couldn't be better were my thoughts.

One night we went to the club and as usual the girls would dance then Adam would slow dance with me. This night the J Babies were playing they sang cover songs from popular bands and most nights they would call me up to sing with them. This night when they did it the lead singer was flirting with me and when I got off the stage Adam was down. Dave came up to me and said

"I have known Adam for years and I have never seen him in love or care about anyone like he care about you. He's a little jealous of you and that guy".

"He has nothing to worry about Dave, why would I ever do anything to hurt him?" I replied.

"Don't say anything to him Emily" Dave begged and I didn't.

When we wanted to chill we would got out to the beer garden and play pool. Adam was really good at pool but so was I though I pretended not to be at the time (stupid but true). Whilst playing pool with the girls Adam came over to me and he looked upset, not sad more angry.

"Emily! Can we talk" he said in a cold tone. My heart sank, was he really that upset about the lead singer flirting with me? He grabbed my hand and took me around the side of the building. The entire time I was thinking 'it's over'.

"Emily!" He started

"yes Adam" I said nervously tears welling up in my eyes and I felt like I was going to drop to the ground. After everything I had been through I had stupidly given myself to this guy.

I hadn't realised that this whole time he had his hand behind his back. When he saw the tears well up and realised I was about to breakdown he moved his arm around to the front and in front of me was the biggest bunch of red roses I had ever seen. They were all individually rapped.

"I love you" were the words that came out of his mouth. I cried automatically it was a cry of relief. He leant in and held me tight.

"Sorry Honey, I didn't mean to upset you I just wanted to give you these and let you know how I feel". I just held him tight and cried.
