"So..." Keefe muttered with his face down when he met Sophie in the halls of Foxfire the next day. "I'm sorry for being such a jerk yesterday.. but it's just that I feel like we've gone through so much together. I don't understand why you chose Fitz. I mean - My mind keeps wandering to these crazy excuses like you planned it but..." Sophie looked at her feet, praying that Keefe wouldn't been able to detect her extreme guilt. Fortunately for her, he didn't. "But I just hoped we had something more than what we have now." Sophie remembered having some sort of conversation like this with Dex after they kissed. She was hoping her and Keefe could still be friends. She hoped Dex would still be her friend as well. Because if they refused to, where would she be then? Had she made the wrong decision?
Sophie met Della at Everglen the next day. She was holding Edaline's hand, with the biggest smile on her face. "What's happening?" Sophie asked, afraid she would regret the question. "Wedding Plans!!!!!" Edaline and Della both said in unison. Sophie groaned. Now she regretted her decision to ask the question.
