I quickly step out of the kitchen, coffee in hand and pass a cup to each of them.
"Please stop this, we need to talk about it so we may as well try not get into a fight before any conversation has even been had" I look at both of them.
We all sit down around my lounge, me and Zed on our three seater couch and Hardin on one of our single seaters.
"Tessa, why didn't you just tell me. You can't expect me to be okay that you held this secret from me for three years. What the fuck is wrong with you"
"Hardin, I didn't know how.." he cuts me off
"Didn't know how? You've had three fucking years to find a way or may I say the nine months you carried her in your stomach" he's getting angrier and I can't blame him.
"You know you could of just sent me a text or something, anything would of been better then not knowing for this long. She calls him daddy Tessa! What the fuck"
"Hardin, you never wanted kids. You didn't want this future with me, you deserted me in London, you.." he cuts me off again
"I came back for you! I came back for us!" He raises his voice and stands up
"Tessa, this is absolute bullshit! I came back, I changed. you see I've changed, we would of figured it out had you let me!"
"Let you? How many chances did I give you in our entire relationship, too fucking many! You always gave me some lie of a promise that 'you'll never do it again' but you continued to do the same shit, so no!at that point in our life's three years ago, I couldn't trust you to step up, I'm sorry but I don't regret not telling you. You weren't ready then." I say with absolutely certainty
"So what now?" He sits back down "I want to know her, does she know I'm her dad?" He asks
"Not yet, I wanted to know if you wanted to be in her life before I confuse her" I say
I look over at Zed who has stayed quiet this whole time, but he just looks at me and smiles
"Yeah, I do Tess." He says looking at his hands
"Well you can stay for dinner tonight, I think it's best if you come around and hang out with us a few more times before we tell her"
"Okay"
