Part 40.

I'm standing in the elevator trying to calm my nerves for this confrontation with Zed, The elevator opens on our floor and I step out walking towards our apartment door. I take a deep breath and decide that I'll go along with what Zed wants for now, because I need to come up with a plan to get out of here. I was thinking if I should call Hardin to help with this situation but he only knows half of my relationship break down and it's not fair on him to get him involved and the last thing I want is Hardin to get into a physical altercation with Zed and knowing Hardin thats exactly what will happen.

I take the keys from my bag and unlock the front door and step in, it's exactly the sight I used to see when I would come home less then a month ago.

my very attractive husband on the couch watching whatever's on the tv and my beautiful daughter playing with her toys on the floor, I used to love coming home to this view but now it's ruined I can't help but feel a pit in my stomach.

"Hey baby! I've missed your beautiful face" Zeds kisses my head which brings me out of my thoughts, I hadn't noticed him walk toward me

"Zed, Please don't act like everything's fine" I whisper to him while I hang up my bag and take my heels off.

Zed looks at me with a blank expression "dinner is ready, we were just waiting for you to eat together so we can go sit at the table now" he gestures to our dinning table

"Mommy, I helped with dinner" emery runs into my arms

I pick her up and walk towards the table
"You are so helpful honey, I'm so proud of you" I kiss her cheek and she giggles

We sit out on our seats and dig into our meal in plain silence. We finish dinner and I quickly clear the table and wash up and make my way back to the lounge

"Zed, it's getting late. I think it's best if emery and I get back to Landon's" I quietly say

"Why?, this is your home and Emery's home. Tessa stop this now, we need to talk about this we're still a family. I miss you both, please stay here, just come home!" He pleads

"Emery, honey will you go grab what you want to bring to uncle Landon's and Aunty Nora's house. Zed I mean daddy and mommy need to talk for a minute" I gently say to my little daughter. She jumps up and runs down to her room

"Zed, I can't. I want a divorce, I can't get over this. I forgive you I truly forgive you but I won't forget this betrayal and it's better for us now to end it" I state firmly

Zed abruptly gets up from where he was sitting and stands directly in front of me

"I'm not letting this family go Tess! She's my daughter, not by blood but I've raised her for the last 3 years and she calls me daddy, so what? Hardin comes back into your life and you drop me after everything I've done for you." He's angry very angry

"You can still be apart of her life. Also Hardin is irrelevant in this conversation, You cheated! I don't even know how to look past that." I argue

He grabs me and kisses me so hard that it hurts. "You love me I know you love me we can work this out, I have to step up and be there for that baby but I love you Tessa I can't do this without you two"

"No! I said no! We can't fix this" I shout

Suddenly I'm starring up at Zed who's looking down at me with wide eyes I'm unsure of what just happened but he then springs forward and kneels right in front of me "I'm so sorry" he grabs my face "oh my god Tessa I swear I didn't mean to do that it just happened I can't even explain what I was thinking I just lost it. I didn't mean to push you I just really miss you please understand i didn't mean to do that. I'm so sorry" he cries holding my face to his hands

"Mommy, mommy are you okay?" Emery's looking at me with fear

"Emery, honey. Daddy was just playing with mommy" Zed says and stands up quickly trying to walk toward her but she bolts into my arms. I hold her and get up to stand, I walk towards the front door and put my heels back on

"Zed we are leaving now, I will be filing for divorce and if you try and pull another stunt like this again with taking her without my permission I will get a restraining order, I meant it when I said you can still be in her life but just give it time" I grab my bag and walk out of the apartment.
