CHAPTER 27 (I am such a greedy bastard)

“Damn Christian! Bakit ‘di man lang sinabi sa akin ang relasyon nilang dalawa?! Althea Marie is our sister pero wala akong kaalam-alam!” Pang-ilang bato ko na ng gamit na mahagip ko. I am so enraged by what happened earlier at the house.

I screamed at my brother while thinking of our sister. It seems likemy happiness was taken away after five days of our ‘making love’. We’ve been having a pure professional relationship and this happens. Kapag minamalas ka nga naman at isugod ka sa ospital dahil sa Typhoid fever.

Magkakasakit ka na nga lang, ginago ka pa ng itinuring mong best friend. Miguel has been my best friend from College and to find out na may relasyon sila ng kapatid kong pinakainalagaan ko sa buong mundo. Althea Marie has always been the center of out lives and seeing her with my playboy best friend is too much. Matagal na palang may relasyon ang dalawa at hindi ko man lang napansin.

I hate myself too much to think about anything. I am damn sick and I want to see Victoria. She can definitely take away the sickness in me with a single kiss. All I want to do is sleep by her side and kiss her senseless. I miss my Victoria.

“Twin bro, best friend mo naman iyon. You should be happy for them as much as I do. Althea Marie is all grown up, hindi mo lang talaga matanggap. There will be a time when she needs to move on from being just our little sister and be someone’s woman.” That hit a nerve on me. Tama nga ba ang kapatid ko? Is she really growing up?

Hindi ko matanggap. Hindi ko matatanggap na ang baby namin ay malaki na at may karelasyon. It’s too hard for me to think about that.

“Damn! I want to kill Miguel.” Then I gave up and just lied on the hospital bed like a lifeless veggie. Damn this feeling. Ang hirap naman ng ganito.

“Bro, makukulong ka lang. Magpagaling ka na lang at talagang Typhoid fever pa? Ano bang kinakain mo? Eh ayaw mo nga sa madudumi eh, lalo na sa street foods tapos nagkaganyan ka? What a weak child.”

“Christian, wag ka na nga mang-asar dyan.”

“Grumply old Andrei, wala ka na kasing magagawa since mag-iisang taon na sila at nangako naman sa akin si Miguel na never niya pa nabastos ang kapatid natin and I believe him. Please bro, calm down. Calm the fvck down at tawagan mo na ang girlfriend mo.”

“G*go wala akong girlfriend at wala akong pakialam. Tinalo niya ang kapatid natin.” Tumatawa lang si Chris at hindi niya ako sineseryoso.

“Kawawa ka naman, hindi ka binibisita ng babaeng ina-assume mong girlfriend mo. How sa big bro, how sad. Torpe-torpe ka dyan, but asking some girls in the bar just to bang them  is just as easy as pie for you.”

“That’s it!” Binato ko na siya ng mga unan ko at tumatawa pa rin. Di ako makalayo sa kama kasi may IV ako kamay.

“You need to fvcking go home, si mommy na lang dito. I’ll feel worse kapag ikaw ang kasama ko. Nakakaasar lang iyong pagmumukha mo, and please wag mong na ipamukha na may girlfriend ka kasi lalo lang akong naiinis. Asking Victoria to be my girlfriend makes me more nervous than taking the board examinations. She is… too precious to handle.”

“Mukha mo, Andrei. Torpe sh*t ka lang. You won’t be getting anywhere kung ganyan ka. Tell her you love her so that she’ll do the same. Be honest.”

Inililihis na niya ako sa issue sa kapatid namin. Sneaky bastard.

“I want to talk to Miguel, Chris. Bring him over, now!” Then my brother just laughed his ass out and started using his phone. He just ignored my request and started texting his model girlfriend again. Nainggit naman ako kasi talagang kanya iyong babae, eh si Victoria, is she mine?

Gusto ko na siyang maging girlfriend at ipakilala sa pamilya ko. I also want to apologize to her family for what I have done previously that broke their daughter’s heart. That was too selfish of me and I admit my mistakes. Kasalanan ko naman talaga kaya kailangan kong humingi ng tawad.

Having Victoria back in my life is like completing a jigsaw puzzle because she is the missing piece. Seeing her carefree, young-spirited and humble personality drives me insane. I love her simplicity, her femininity and her warm smiles.

I love her.

“Drei, tumigil ka na dyan ha or else papatawag ko iyong nurse para maturukan ka sa pwet. Ang kulit-kulit mo, para kang bata. You need to understand them, okay? Be a man, bro.” Ngumisi siya at bumalik sa pagtingin sa phone niya. He’s going to sleep here with me, while my parents are still attending patients. Sana bisitahin ako ni Victoria.

Please, you need to know about me from other para magmukha akong kawawa at lalo ka pang mainlove sa akin. I need to text that talkative Amalie para naman sabihan niya si Victoria na sinugod ako sa ospital. She’s been matchmaking us, so okay lang naman siguro iyon sa kanya. I miss Victoria’s scent… wait did she just souded like ‘Victoria’s secret’?

Dirty thought ran again in my mind. Damn I want to see her in‘Victoria’s secret’ lingerie. I’m going to buy her tons of that if ever she approves of me as her boyfriend.

No… I want to marry her so that she won’t be able to go away. Gusto ko dito ko siya pakakasalan para walang takas. Mahirap kaya kumuha ng annulment dito sa Pilipinas kahit na pareho pa kayong mayaman. I don’t want her to get away because she’s only mine. I want her mine; body, mind, and soul. I might be greedy when it comes to her pero iyon naman ang totoo eh. I want her so much it kills me to imagine some other guy pursuing her.

I am such a greedy bastard.

“Gago ka talaga, palibhasa may girlfriend ka kaya ka ganyan kawalang pakialam sa pinakagwapong lalaki na nakahiga ngayon dito sa ospital.” Nagulat ako ng batuhin niya ako ng unan sa mukha at tumatawang kumakain ng apple habang nakikipagtext.

“Apple ko iyan ha. Akin iyan, dala ni mommy yan, bro.” Dumila na lang siya at humiga.
