Kris' Pov

My mind blanked.

I had no idea what to say to this.

So I didn't.

I sat there, silent.

Slowly, I wrapped my hand around hers and stared dead ahead, trying my hardest not to blush.

"Kris...?" she asked. I didn't say anything, but gave her hand a gentle squeeze.

She smiled and looked forward as well.

And that's how we stayed.

Hand in hand.

Faces red.

Both looking forward to the future for once in our lives.

"I lied about having my stuff done. I snuck out." Susie blurted out.

I just about had a heart attack right then and there.
