Its Raining

I'm tangled up in my bed with Clarke. Our legs crossing each other's. Fingers intertwined. Her back to my chest as my arms circle her body to keep her close. We've been 'together' for about 2 months and this is how we sleep almost every night. Some nights she is too busy tending to injured campers or she's really angry with him. Or he with her. He's not angry with her very often but when he is it always ends with her tackling him in a hug and kiss then slapping his head for not coming back to the tent the night before. If she was angry he'd hear her scream from the drop ship with the terror of her nightmare. He'd comfort her then beg her to come sleep with him since she needed her sleep. The next day they'd pretend it never happened.

Tonight was different than all the others. Clarke suddenly shot out of bed, braking his hold, and started muttering things I couldn't make out. I'd heard of Octavia seeing her do this once or twice before Clarke and I got together. I sat up groggily and start rubbing her back in circles. The muttering stops slowly. "Princess, what's wrong?" I kiss the back of her neck lovingly, trying to calm her down.

"The Grounders. They're coming. They're going to hurt you and everyone else. They're going to take you from me." Her eyes are panicked and her hands touch my cheeks to make sure I'm still there and to get my attention.

"Clarke, you had a bad dream princess. We've had a truce for months. I'm not going anywhere." I stroke her cheeks with my thumbs as she realizes everything is good and okay.

"Oh, Bellamy. Thank god." She kissed me softly. "I thought... you were dead... gone from me... it was my fault... dead and my fault." Tears streamed down her face.

"Princess... I'm. Not. Going. Anywhere. Got it?" I place my forehead against hers. She moved her head to the crook of my neck and nodded.

We sat like that for awhile. She was starting to drift. I laid her down with me and held her to me and went back to our legs and arms tangled together so she can sleep. I drifted off just as a clap of thunder went through the camp. Clarke shot awake. Well, now she's not going to sleep. When it rains she doesn't sleep. She smiles at the ceiling and keeps time on her fingers.

"It's raining. I love storms." Clarke said smiling up at me as I moved her on to my lap so we could enjoy the storm together.

"I know." I say looking into those beautiful blue-green eyes. "I love you." The words are out before I know it.

"Bell..." Clarke started and my heart sank into my stomach.

"Um... I've gotta go." I start to move her off me but then she kisses me passionately. "Clarke... Clarke... Princess! Stop!" I shout.

"Why?" She pouts and I can't help but feel turned on.

"Because I said three very important words and you didn't say them back, Clarke." I got up and walked outside into the camp where everyone had started to work.

"Bellamy!" Clarke yelled after me. "Will you slow down so I can tell you that I love you too!?" I stopped and she stumbled into my back. "Bellamy, of course I love you! More than anyone! Don't you know that?"

I kiss her passionately and pick her up and spin her around. Everyone around us was starring. We don't normally do the whole public display thing except for kisses on the cheek. Nothing like this. I keep pecking her lips as I set her down. "Jesus Christ! Get a room!" Miller and a couple other guys joke as Clarke puts her head on my chest smiling with one arm around me and a hand on my chest.

"I just lost my breakfast, Brother." Octavia says making gagging noises.

"Very funny, O." I chuckled.

"Hey, Bellamy?" Clarke said.

"Yeah, Princess?" I asked looking down at her.

"It's raining." She says and snuggles into my chest.

"It's raining, Princess. It's raining." I kissed the top of her head and chuckled.
