It’s now slightly more than a week since Haden left…and I’m in a butt load of trouble!

I’ve missed my period.

It’s probably nothing…but what if…?

Oh god!

Why does crap like this always happen to me?!

Just then, there’s a knock on the door, making me jump.

            “You alright, Skye?” Matt calls.

            “Yes! Fine,” I call quickly.

I straighten my dress and slip out of the room.

            “Sorry. You’re just usually out of the room way earlier. You feeling okay?” he asks.

I nod my head.

Can he tell?!

Is that why he’s giving me the third degree?!

            “I’m fine, okay! Stop hounding me!” I whisper.

Matt raises an eyebrow.

            “I’m sorry…” he mumbles.

I take a deep breath and head down the hall to the throne room. I’m being insane. Nobody will know.

Will they?

Oh man!

I just have to stay calm…nobody will know…

We get to the throne room and I sit on Haden’s throne, acutely aware of all the courtiers. Oo…looks like there’s something going on today.

            “Good morning, princess,” Carter greets, smiling easily.

            “Good morning,” I mumble.

Alex walks over to stand beside me.

            “Every week, Haden sits in and listens to reports from anyone and everyone who has something to say,” he explains.

I nod my head.

Lord McAllister steps to the middle of the room, a smirk on his face.
