"What's the matter with George?" Prudence asked Paul.

"The medicine he's taking for his lungs makes him a bit...well...bipolar I guess you could say at times." Paul explained.

"Oh I didn't know!" She said, angry at herself.

"It's alright, Prudence." Paul assure her. "You can explain to him. Just, be careful around him for now."

She nodded and went back to George.

"George?" She asked worried.

"I'm sorry." He said before she could apologize.

"I know about the medicine." She told him.

"You do?" He asked.

She nodded.

"Well I guess you might wanna stay away from me." He sighed.

"It's alright." She smiled and kissed him.

The next day, George was back to being moody and agitated.

Not knowing this yet, Prudence tried to wake him up.

"George? Do you wanna do something today?" She asked him, lightly shaking his shoulder.

"Get off." He warned.

"Please?" She asked once more.

"I said stop!" He yelled and slapped her.

"I'll be home later." She said quietly and headed off to Ringo's.

He was practicing the drums and stopped when he saw Prudence.

"You're back!" He smiled.

"Yea." She said.

"What's happened?" He asked, noticing her red cheek.

"George slapped me; it wasn't his fault though. He's on some medicine that makes him a little...well...it makes him bipolar almost." She explained.

"Oh." He responded. "Do you want some ice for it?"

"I'm fine, thanks." She smiled and sat on his bed.

They spent their day at his house, they ordered some lunch and ate in his room. Near dinner time, Ringo began to take Prudence back to George's when they ran into George on the sidewalk.

"Hi George." She greeted him nervously.

"Who's this?" He asked.

"Oh he's just a friend." Prudence said.

Ringo pouted at the "just a friend" remark.

"Oh really?" George asked.

"George, I swear." Prudence said.

"Listen, you get away from my girl or else." George threatened him.

Ringo stood up for himself, "Hey, I was just walkin' the bird home cause you were hurtin' her earlier."

"I wasn't hurtin' her!" George shouted back.

"You were to! She came over with a red cheek and she said you caused it!" Ringo shouted.

Out of frustration, George stepped forward and swung a fist towards Ringo's face. It hit him right on his cheekbone.

"Hey!" Ringo shouted and punched George back.

They kept fighting and Prudence tried to step in and stop it.

"Move!" George yelled at her and pushed her away.

Ringo eventually fell on the floor and George took off with Prudence.

"What the hell were you doing?" He asked her.

"I was just hanging over." She swore.

"I saw you two holding hands." George yelled and slapped Prudence's back.

"Tell me the truth; what were you doing there?" He asked again.

"I promise, I just went over and hung out! We had lunch together and he taught me how to play a song or two on the drums." Prudence explained.

George slapped her face.

"Sure..." He said sarcastically.

Prudence began to ran ahead of George.

"Don't you dare." He yelled to her and pulled her back violently.

He held her wrist tightly and dragged her home. When they got home, George took her to their room.

"I bet you two were in bed." He accused her.

"What? No!" She shouted.

"You are a slut, aren't you?" George questioned her.

"George!" She cried.

"Oh shut up!" He said and kicked Prudence who was in the corner of the room on the floor.

"Paul!" She cried out.

George locked the door.

"Quit crying and begging like a baby!" He shouted.

She tried to muffle her crying in her sleeve until Paul managed to unlock the door from the outside.

"Prudence?!" He shouted.

"Paul!" She exclaimed and half crawled, half limped to him.

George let her go reluctantly and Paul took her to his room.

"What did he do?" Paul asked frantically.

She explained to him in between cries and yelps.

"Hun, you're gonna have a black eye tomorrow." Paul said, inspecting her.

He saw all the bruises and marks on Prudence's back and legs.

Prudence rested in Paul's bed for a while and George came in a few hours later.

"Are you in here, Love?" George called out in a gentle voice.

He saw a nervous Prudence peeking out from under Paul's covers.

"Prudence what happened?" He asked, noticing her eye turning black and other bruises.

"You mean you don't remember?" She asked.

He shook his head.

"George, you did all of this." She told him.

"What?" He asked astonished. "Oh my God...it's the pills, isn't it? Oh my God, Prudence, I feel awful."

George gingerly wrapped his arms around her.

After minutes of silence, George told Prudence what he thought he should've told her a while ago.

"Prudence...you should go." George said.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean...you really should just leave me and Paul and all of this shitty place." He told her. "Go back to Ringo, he'll happily take you in after what you've been through."

"After what I've been through?" She asked, disgusted. "I don't want a pity boyfriend! Is that why you let me in here? Cause you felt bad for me?"

"Pru-"

"Yes or no?" She demanded.

"Well-"

"It's a simple question, George!"

"Yes; but just at first! I fell in love with you after I got to realize how amazing you are!" He pleaded.

"Fuckin' liar! I thought someone actually liked me, thought I was pretty... I thought you thought I was actually worth something and not just a piece of crap!"

"Prudence, please!" He shouted to her as she ran out of the room and out of the house.

"Prudence!"
