I had to put a pun in the chapter title, I'm sorry.

Hugh stood there, wide eyed. "Just remain calm, Jemmy," Thomas whispered to James. James frightfully nodded.

"What's goin' on here?" He asked, demandingly. "Dad, we're playing truth or dare," James gave him a serious face.

Hugh blinked at the four. "Why were this random kid and Hercules making out?"

Marquis couldn't understand much, but he knew it was a serious situation. He gazed at Hercules who couldn't get out much words. "Playing truth or dare. We got dared to kiss, and we took the mans way and agreed to the dare!" Hercules gave him a thumbs up.

"No, son. A man wouldn't agree to a dare like that. That's just gross!" He threw his hands. Hercules rolled his eyes.

"I wanna know the truth!" His dad hollered. "Dad what are you doing home so early?" James asked. "I asked a question, James!" He yelled. James looked down. Thomas rubbed his back. "Not helping," James gritted to him. Thomas jumped and removed his hand.

It was a bit silent. "This is my boyfriend, Marquis," Marquis let out a small wave. His dad turned red with angry. His hands turned to fists and he threw Hercules' chair down. Hercules fell down with it. His father picked him up and threw him.

That was enough for Thomas to bust. "Stop it!" He screamed. James told him to stop before he got hurt too. Hugh punched his child, and Hercules screamed. He would normally punch someone back, but this is his father who owns him. He could do anything he wants.

Marquis was just gazing at his boyfriend. He slowly rose from his chair. Carefully picked it up. Hesitated. Hesitated some more.

Right as Hugh was about to slam him into the wall, Marquis threw the chair. He then put his signature hands on hips, and smirked with victory as it hit Hugh and knocked him down.

Marquis ran over to Hercules and picked him up. Then he turned around to Hugh and screamed,"Vous êtes une personne terrible! Hercules est la personne la plus étonnante, mignonne et la plus intelligente que je connaisse!" He smacked Hugh. Hercules watched this with amazement.

Marquis hugged Hercules with a smile. James and Thomas walked together over to Hugh. "I think we've got a bit before he's awake again. Do you guys wanna run for it?" Thomas wasn't making a joke. He was serious. James looked at Hercules. Both of them nodded at each other.

Thomas and Marquis walked outside, while James and Hercules ran upstairs to grab some stuff.
Hercules looked around. He saw their cat ripped his shirt into pieces. The cat sat in the window and meowed. Hercules sighed, and grabbed the shirt sleeve that was ripped off. He didn't know what to do with it, so he wrapped it around his head.

"I guess I look cool in this," he murmured. He packed his back, and raided the refrigerator. James was already outside when Hercules joined them. "What's with the bandana?" Thomas asked, hesitantly. "Going with a new style," Hercules chuckled, walking off with them.

What the heck's gonna happen now?

________________________________

It had been two weeks. James and Hercules never kept moving. Right now, they were staying at Thomas' house. Last week they stayed at Marquis' house. The two plan to alternate, so they keep from being caught.

Their mother called every single hour of the day. Their father had signs looking for them. Thomas had told his mother of everything, and she decided not to send them to school because it might be too dangerous.

The same happened with Marquis' mother.

So, for awhile. They kept out of windows, kept out of touch, kept out of sight. This was their new life.

"So, hons, What do y'all want for dinner?" Thomas' mother walked into the basement which was made the new apartment complex for Thomas, James, and Hercules. "It doesn't matter, ma'am." James claimed. "I'd like some Stake n' Shake," Hercules blurted. Thomas looked at him. "Really?" Hercules then nodded.

The mother laughed. "You dearies are just the sweetest peaches!" James looked at Thomas. "I'm not sure what she's doing here. She'll do anything to mock a retro southern accent," he said.

"Yeah," James chuckled. Thomas planted a kiss on James' cheek. "So cute!" His mother grinned, walking upstairs. "I hope Marquis is doing okay!" Hercules said. "Speaking of him, your boyfriend is awesome!" James grinned. Thomas nodded his head,"I definitely agree! Something about him just reminds me of me!" He laughed. Hercules rolled his eyes. "Please no."

Then he remembered Thomas standing up to his dad for a second. He wondered why his brother told him to stop. Almost as if he was more interested in keeping Thomas safe than him.

But Thomas' family was helping James out, so he was very appreciative.  But then he wondered again if he really loved Marquis or if it was just pressure of making him happy.

He now knew. He had to tell Marquis.
