……………….. “Take Cole” Joe yelled to Brae I’ll deal with the others”

“Like hell let the fucker burn” Brae and Marco we’re circling each other Seth “I’m taking him down for the second time” Brae smiled

Seth shook his head he couldn’t’ worry about Joe and Brae not being on the same page, He turned to the bed where I was lay, anger in him made the floor shake throwing the others of balance as the shrieks poured from a burning Cole, Gregor was watching as Joe closed in on him.

“You want to dance old man” Joe laughed “You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to take you down”

“You are a protector nothing more” Gregor dismissed Joe “You are no threat to me”

“Seth was right you have become lazy” Joe shook his head

“His time will come?” Gregor closed his eyes as Joe moved forward cutting his knife through the air as Gregor disappeared

“Fuck he’s gone” Joe yelled over the noise

“Worry about him later” Brae hollered as he dodged a green streak of a whip that Marco flung at him. “Seth”

“I have her” Seth called out as the shrieking from Cole stopped and he fell to the floor “Take out Cole end him” Seth moved to the bed and pulled me into his arms “Hold Marco do not kill him” he stroked my face the burning easing in ths tattoo as he touched me.

“Hey lover boy can we drop the flame” Brae shouted

“thank you for your wall my friend” the flames died away the floor and furniture untouched by it Joe was holding a struggling Marco Seth was wiping the blade of his knife as Coles shouldering body lay on the ground his head to the side.

“Is she okay?” Brae hurried over and looked down on me

“She’s been given a heavy sedative” Seth looked at Brae “She will come round but not for a while” he looked back to me

“Can’t we give her something” Brae sat down and took my hand in his “I need to make sure she’s okay”

“Trust me she is fine the best thing for her is to rest right now”

“Hey will you pretty boys put the girl down and help me for a minutes” Joe puffed as Marco tried again to get free of him. Seth laid me back down against the soft pillows and got off the bed walking over to his brother.

“You took off her clothes”

“I see why you want her Seth” he sneered “I see why you want those legs wrapped round you”

“Hey dumb ass that’s my sister” Brae pushed past Seth

“She’s breeding stock and I’ll get my chance with her” Brae balled his fist and the puch knocked Marco from Joes hold sending him sprawling across the floor

“BRAE” Seth pulled him back “watch over Star”

“I said watch over her” Seth looked at him Brae stopped back and walked over to the bed where I was as Joe stood with Seth. “You think you can take her from me and you think father will not throw you away after you have given him what he wants”

“He will want more from me he will want me to take her” Seth grabbed Marco round the throat

“Do not speak of Star like she is a piece of flesh for your enjoyment” Seth snarled “you are not worthy of even breathing the same air that she breaths”

“You’re becoming weak of mind Seth… you are letting your heart get ruled by her, You should fulfill what is expected of you it’s what we were created for not to love we were created to wage war and make people bow to us we’ve remained quiet for too long” Seth dropped his hand from Marco’s neck “I will back away from the woman if you do what you need to do to make it right” Seth turned away from Marco “You know I am right Brother you feel it, you feel that you have to make her the mother to and pure immortal” Brae was looking at Seth

“You can’t be listening to this jack ass” Brae said pulling me behind him making sure anything or anyone was going to have to get through him first before they got close to me. “I thought you loved Star” Seth looked at him

“He’s incapable of Love” Marco became cocky “He’s a Vandes we are here to cause destruction not to let mortals or protectors stand in our way” Marco put his hand on Seth’s shoulder. “Your sister is a means to an end”

“Seth” Joe was looking nervous.

“We can take out these fools Seth” Marco murmured in Seth’s ear Seth had his eyes closed “Take them out and we can take out father and rule over this measly planet… you can have the woman warming your bed if you must but we can become stronger and more powerful”

“We can” Seth nodded slowly “IT can be ours for the taking…” Marco began to smile “But brother one thing”

“Yes”

“I’m not interested in what you want” Seth turned on him a flash of silver streaked across the room as Marco stepped back gagging and choking as blood poured from the wound in his neck “I will live with Star she will bear my children but they will be our children not immortal puppets for you or our father to play with… they will not know the hatred that we were raised with” Seth knelt by the gagging body of his Brother and gripped his hair “they will know only love” the knife swiftly ended the life of Marco. Seth put his hands on the floor and took deep breathes, Joe walked over and put his hand on Seth’s shoulder

“You scared us there for a moment” Seth looked up at Joe “Go to star I will deal with the bodies” Joe offered him a hand and pulled Seth to his feet “Brae”

“I’m coming” Brae moved away from me and turned and kissed my forehead “I’ll be back in a while” he looked at Seth. Seth nodded and moved onto the bed as Brae and Joe began to clean up the mess. Seth pushed my hair from my neck and shut out all images of what had happened his fingers tracing the outline of my face, he waited till the room was empty apart from the two of us before he let his emotions take over and he held me as he cried……………..
