Chapter 49: with Jesus

*Winter Woods*

"Yes. We will be having a date . . . with Jesus." His voice repeated several times in my head.

Pinanood ko siyang kunin ang ilang libro sa gilid niya. Ni ngayon ko lang napansin na may mga libro pala dun. I was too busy mesmerizing this piece of haven that I became unobservant at some things.

"Ready?" He asked me with a smile. Tumango ako at ngumiti.

"Good. Let's pray first." After saying that, he fixed himself in an indian sit and I did the same. Kinuha niya ang mga kamay ko at saka siya pumikit. Pumikit din ako pagkatapos ay sinimulan na niyang magdasal.

Habang nagdadasal siya ay mas lalong gumagaan ang pakiramdam ko. There's this unexplainable kind of really great presence I am feeling. Lalo na nang nag 'amen' na siya to finish the prayer. After he prayed, mas lalo pang gumaan ang pakiramdam ko.

Everything feels light.

Sinalubong ako ng mga ngiti niya pagkamulat ko ng aking mga mata. I'm not kidding. But, Summer looks more handsome in my eyes after he prayed. There's really a power in prayer.

His chocolate eyes are beaming with joy even his lips have this infinitesimal twitch upwards.

"I brought my devotional book with me. It was entitled, Our Daily Bread."

I just came back to my trance when he lifted the book. Geez. I think I was more mesmerized by his prayers than this cozy place. I shook my head just a little and turned to him to check the book he's holding.

"You brought a book?"

"Yes."

Ngumiti siya at muling ipinakita yung book sakin.

"Ito yung devotional book ko. I always bring this wherever I go. This is my daily bread before starting my day."

"Oh." I felt impressed for a moment.

Such a devoted man of God.

Minsan ko ng napansin ang mga ganoong libro sa spiritual section ng bookshelves sa bookstore ko. Pero nasorpresa talaga ako nang malaman ko na nagbabasa ng ganoong libro si Summer. Sabagay, dapat hindi na ako magulat dahil madalas naman na ang Diyos ang bukambibig niya pag naguusap kami.

"At mula dito sa librong ito natin kukunin ang paksa natin para makipagdate Sakanya." Then he pointed his finger above the star-sttuded sky with a smile.
