For a nerve wracking moment his sleepy eyes shifted to and fro the dim lit space.
She knew any second now those eyes will end up looking at her so she leaned back smoothly against the couch hoping that he wasn’t conscious of it.
He sighed deeply, closed his eyes and dozed off again without so much as glancing at her.
It was only then that Venice allowed herself to breathe again.

Pinagmasdan niya lang ito hangang sa nakasiguro na siyang tulog na ulit si Heath.

Nitong mga nakaraang araw kasi napansin ni Venice na hindi na masyadong tumatalab ang mga gamot niya. Lately, she had to double her dose of her pain medication just to feel its effect which wasn’t a good sign. There may come a time when those meds won’t alleviate her pain and she was afraid of it. Her time was definitely nearing.
