Kiss of Revenge Ch. 14: Tragic Kiss

RB's POV:

Hindi ko alam kung sino si tadhana, pero peste siya.

Alam ko na may hangganan ang lahat. Na magigising din ako sa katotohanan na hindi habang buhay kaya kong balewalain yung katotohanan na may Emma sa buhay ni Charles. Na magkakaroon siya nang anak sa ibang babae. Na hindi totoo yung kasiyahan ko ngayon.

Hindi ko man alam kung sino si tadhana, pero peste pa rin siya.

Kanina pa tahimik sa dining table ng mga DeGuzman. Maging yung mga magulang ni Charles hindi nagpapansinan. And I think the only one who's enjoying this awkward situation is Cassandra who can't seem to take off that small smile on her face through out dinner.

Charles swear na he didn't know Emma was invited. And I trust him. Ilang beses na din akong pabulong na niyaya ni Charles na umalis. Pero hindi ako pumayag dahil nakakahiya naman sa pamilya nya na inimbitahan ako para makicelebrate sa espesyal na araw na ito.

Sobrang espesyal nang araw na ito, gusto ko maiyak.

Emma was silently seating in front of me. Her belly is so big feeling ko isang subo pa nya ng pagkain, sasabog yung tyan nya tapos magkakalat ng dugo sa buong table, kasunod nang malakas na uwa ng baby nila.

Morbid.

I know.

Pero I can't think of anything nice when I look at her. She's almost due. And I wonder kung alam na ba nila ni Charles yung gender nung anak nila. Kung may pangalan na ba silang naisip. May nursery room na kaya silang nakahanda.

Every unanswered question just leads to the realization that the last few happy months with Charles is not real. I'm living a made-up life. A life of partial truth. And it hurts to think that I fooled myself just to be happy with him.

I wondered ilang beses kaya nagawa ng nanay ko to hanggang dumating sa punto na umayaw na din siya.

I felt Charles hand squeeze mine. Dinner is over and it's just him, me, Emma and Cassandra sa table.

"Nasan yung parents mo?" Tanong ko sa kanya.

"They're already upstairs." He said. He seemed bothered.

"I don't think it's a Happy Birthday for Dad." I hear Cassandra say. "But it was a very interesting dinner." She said sabay tayo sa kinauupuan nya. "And it's nice having you Emma. You too RB." She said with a smile.

Emma answered with a timid smile. "I think I ruined this night for everyone."

"Oh don't be silly. You made it exciting. Without you and RB, it would be a plain boring dinner." Sagot ni Cassandra. She was about to leave when she remembered something. "By the way, have you and Charles thought of a name already? It's a girl right?" she asked looking from Emma to Charles, at nung wala ni isa sa kanilang dalawa ang sumagot. "Whatever." She said then she walked out of the dining area then out of the house.

After she left, another awkward silence followed.

Then we heard something from upstairs. "She's also part of the family sweetheart. She's carrying our granddaughter." Si Mr. DeGuzman.

"I just can't believe you'll put everyone in this situation Charles. I'm very disappointed with you right now." Mrs. DeGuzman answered.

So hindi si Cassandra ang nang-imbita kay Emma? Kundi yung tatay nila? Does it have anything to do with what he said to me a few months back?

"You're smart. I know you know what's best for you and for their baby."

That answers it.
