Head Above Water (Twilight)

Chapter 27

Filler chapter.

Samantha Clearwater, twin sister of Seth Clearwater and little sister of Leah, sighs as she looks at her chopped off hair and her tribal tattoo. Shortly after her and her siblings' dad, Harry Clearwater, died, the three siblings shifted into shapeshifters. It sucks reading each other's thoughts as wolves because Leah is always thinking of her ex, Sam, and their cousin, Emily, and about how lonely she is. She makes everyone around her as miserable as she is.

"Sammy!" Sue Clearwater yells from downstairs. "Hurry up before you're late!"

Seth and Samantha are still in school, as per Sam's say-so. He wants them to study and go to school but to skip if need-be. Sam's just glad that Sue knows about shapeshifters and doesn't care. She will come up with a rock-solid excuse for her kids if they needed one.

"Coming!"

Samantha pulls on her cotton vest and goes downstairs. She sees Seth already dressed and read. Leah's gone, probably to Sam's to learn her patrol route. Sue drives her twins to school and Samantha ducks her head when people start apologizing for Harry. Seth wraps an arm around her and guides her through the messy sea of students.
