I close down my laptop and a call comes in from Shoota.

"Weh yah gwan wid inna di day yah?"

"Wah fi gwan?" I ask.

"Yuh nah do a thing fi yuh strong?" he asks.

Oh.

Mi deven did a medz dat.

"No, yuh know say mi nuh too care bout nuh birthday"

I look down to see Ivy stretching her hands up to me.

"Da-da"

I use my shoulder to hold my phone to my ear and lift her up in my arms.

We stay on the call for a couple more minutes and Aaliyah comes down the stairs.

"Hey" she says smiling.

"How yah sleep suh long?"

"You should be able to answer that question"

"Yuh nuh affi cook cause Aunty Mourine a forward"

"Oh really?"

She was to come earlier but since Aaliyah was still sleeping I told her to come at 11.

She should be here by now...

Leah's POV

Ivy laughs filling the room makes me smile.

She has been sleeping in our room lately.

The only time she will sleep in her room is if the nanny puts her down.

"Mi nuh know how she sleep suh enuh"

"She got it from you" he says.

"Me sleep bad?"

"Sometimes you do"

"Nuh tell nuh lie pan mi" he says.

"She talk in har sleep and snore like you"

"I don't snore"

"Yuh can hear yuh self a night time?"

"Two a unuh inna mi ears every night" he adds.

"That's why there is a guest room, daddy is talking about us Ivy"

"Suh a kick unuh a kick mi out a mi room?"

So extra.

"I'm just saying if our snoring is bothering you there's another room, right Ivy?"

"No she nah kick out har father...mi can manage Ivy snoring nuh yours"

"You got jokes?" I ask rolling my eyes.

"See yuh mada a kick me out a wi room" he says to Ivy.

"Nuh you a complain bout snoring"
