Leah's POV

Tuesday

7:20 am

I walk towards Zaidan leaning on his Range with Ivy in his hands.

Sometimes I even forget he has this car.

"A wah dat yuh have mi child inna?" I ask looking at what she's wearing.

"Clothes" he shrugs.

"If I were somebody walking to you from far away I would've mistaken her for a boy"

When did he even buy those shoes for her?

We're taking Ivy to the doctor. Her fever isn't as high as last night and I gave her some medicine but Zaidan insisted on taking her.

A BMW pulls up beside us and the window winds down.

"Don't move" the person says.

My eyes widen and a knot forms in my throat.

He gets into a fit of uncontrollable laughter and I look at Zaidan confused.

"Youth yuh know weh yuh just do?" Zaidan asks him.

"A likkle joke, how yuh suh dark bro?" he asks chuckling.

A feeling of relief washes over me.

"Yuh know mi did affi gi yuh a link pon yuh strong" he tells him.

"Gwan inna di car" he says handing Ivy to me along with the keys.

I open the vehicle and strap Ivy in her car seat before getting in the passenger's side.

I watch as the person steps out of the vehicle and the shades he had on are now off so I can see his face.

He has a big scar on his forehead and tattoos all over his neck.

My eyes find a familiar metal ring on his finger.

Zaidan has had the same one since I've known him.

He keeps it on even in the shower...

He takes out a stack of money from his pocket and hands it to Zaidan but it looks like he's refusing it.

He turns and walks to the car and I quickly look away.

"If a even double this" I hear the man say as they get closer to the vehicle.
