I awoke in a pristine, white room, the delicate fragrance of get well flowers permeating the air. As I attempted to sit up, my gaze wandered and fell upon Richie and Nam, both seated in chairs beside me. Their eyes were swollen, as if they had shed tears throughout the night, and Nam's head rested wearily on Richie's shoulder.

The events of the previous night suddenly flooded back, and a solitary tear escaped my eye as I recalled Fern's haunting smile while holding a bomb. The image gripped my heart with fear, and concern for my baby girl consumed my thoughts. What had transpired? Before I could break free from Nat's clutches, darkness enveloped me.

"Becky, you're awake," Nam exclaimed, rushing towards me and offering assistance to sit upright.

Richie, too, rose from his seat and made his way towards me. His swollen eyes made it difficult to recognize him.

"What happened? Where are my children?" I implored, desperately seeking answers.

Richie and Nam exchanged a somber glance, their expressions heavy with unspoken sorrow. They swallowed hard, preparing themselves to share the painful truth.

"Freen is in the other room with her mother," Nam began, his voice trembling slightly.

"But what about the children? Where are they?" I pressed, my heart pounding in my chest as I awaited their explanation.

"France and Fern are both safe. They are resting," Richie responded, mustering a smile in my direction.

If that was the case, why were their eyes swollen from tears?

"Then, what happened last night? And why were you both crying?" I inquired again, an urgency in my voice. I needed to understand. If everyone was unharmed, why this anguish?

"Nat struck you in the nape, rendering you unconscious. We tried to save you, but Blew rushed into the room. That's when we realized something was amiss," Richie explained, his voice heavy with emotion. "We only heard Fern's cry, and then there was an explosion outside. It wasn't deafening, and later France informed us that Blew had sacrificed himself, carrying the bomb away from the room after planting a kiss on the twins' foreheads. Blew saved everyone, Becky. But last night, no one could save him."

Tears welled in my eyes once more. I had only known him briefly, but why had he made such a selfless sacrifice for the children? Was it because Freen was present?

"Blew is the sperm donor in the IVF process, Becky. He was meant to be the twins' biological father," Nam revealed, causing my eyes to widen in astonishment. "He discovered this fact just last night, so he did everything in his power to protect them."

"And what about Nat?" I inquired, my hands balling into fists, a surge of anger coursing through me.

"He's in jail, along with his accomplice. Rest assured, we will ensure he rots there," Richie assured me, a smile breaking through his weariness as he gently kissed my forehead.

Determined to see Freen and the twins, I made an effort to rise from the bed. Nam and Richie promptly aided me, settling me into a wheelchair before guiding me towards Freen's room.

Upon entering, I beheld the twins, their tear-streaked faces nestled beside Freen. Sensing our presence, Freen's mother quietly excused herself, granting us a moment alone.

Freen offered me a gentle smile, silently urging me to comfort the sobbing children. I nodded, my heart aching at their grief, and called out to them. However, they clung tightly to Freen's hand, refusing to let go.

"I told them that their savior now resides among the stars, and they wanted me to express their gratitude," Freen spoke, a hint of bitterness tainting her smile.

"Do not fret, Fern and France. Uncle Blew is at peace wherever he may be. What did he say to you last night?" I inquired, my voice tender and reassuring.

The twins lifted their heads, gazing up at me with teary eyes.

"He told us to remain strong, to cherish and love our mommies with all our hearts," France choked out, fresh tears streaming down his face. I shifted beside him and drew him into a comforting embrace.

"This time, there shall be no more pain, alright? You, Fern, and Daddy Freen will forge a path of happiness together from this day forward," I whispered, a soft smile forming on my lips. France nodded, finding solace in my words.
