Chapter 21

Devin's POV

Lillian was upset and I could understand why, seeing her like this and feeling the hurt she felt through the bond killed me. I wanted to run back to the room and tell her, but I couldn't. She didn't need to worry and I sat at my desk rummaging through the piles of paperwork that was stacked on the edge. Alpha Drake's pack has been tempting fate, they have been pressing the limits of my borders to gain entry onto my land, and the though that they were that suicidal made me wonder what they were actually up to.

We have always had people trying to get on our land, but it has been mostly rogues looking for food. No pack around us was bold enough to attempt it, knowing full well they would die before they go 10 steps in. This brought a whole new level of stupidity that I just couldn't wrap my head around. "Double patrols around the east side of the border" I mind linked Tye. "Yes, Alpha." he replied quickly.

I knew what they were after, when I had tortured one of the warriors before ripping him apart piece by piece. No way in hell were they ever going to get what is mine. I sat at my desk pondering over what to do about this situation when my office door opened slightly. The sweet scent hitting my nose, I leaned back in my chair, "You can come in Lilly."

She peaked around the door before entering with her scooby doo pj's on. "Are you coming to bed?" she asked as she walked softly to the desk. Her eyes all puffy from crying, and the look on her face of pure worry because I wouldn't tell her what was going on. How could I tell her that she was in danger because of me. Everyone knows the way to bring down an Alpha is to go after the one thing they love the most, their Luna. It will not only destroy me but my entire pack. I grabbed around her waist and pulled her down on top of me, placing my head in the crook of her neck inhaling her sweet scent.

She clutched my face and looked at me worriedly as she gave me a kiss. "Come to bed, its late." she utters as she stood up trying to yank me out of the chair. I reluctantly follow, even though I knew I wasn't going to get any sleep. I let her pull me to the bedroom, as I stared at her small frame struggling to get me to follow. She climbs in the bed as she turns the blanket down for me to get in with her. Laying there, she cuddles closer to me, her head on my chest as she inhales my scent, calming her as her fingers run through my chest hair. Kissing her hair, I lay there hoping that sleep would come as I rub my fingers up and down her back.

The darkness must have taken me for when I woke, sun was peaking through the curtains that swayed with the slight breeze from the cracked window. I reached over to kiss Lillian but she was not there. Panic kicked in as I lunged from the bed, trying to track her scent. It was faint as if she was up for awhile, running down the stairs her scent grew stronger as I ran to the kitchen, knocking over the flower vase on the side table as I went. Looking throughout the kitchen I didn't see her, but her scent was strong so I knew I must have just missed her, I walked out the door towards the training grounds and relief washed over me as I seen her with Shawn, Tye, and Leon training.

Clutching my chest I slowly made my way over as she pinned Leon down to the ground, her claws at his throat showing that she won that round. "Good morning." she said with a huge grin on her face at her victory of beating Leon. She walked up to me, wrapping her arms around my waist, pressing her head against my chest inhaling my scent. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I woke up early and we just started training." she uttered as she reached her arms up and wrapping them around my neck to pull me down for a kiss. I nearly had a heart attack and my mind was just overwhelmed with the thought of what could have happened I didn't move when she kept trying to reach my lips.

I felt this strong annoying feeling coming from her till the next thing I knew she kicked my leg out from under me and I fell straight down on my back. "Arg... " my wind was knocked out of me from the sudden impact of the ground as she straddled me and leaned down to kiss me. Wrapping my arms around her waist, I kissed her back as I flipped her around making her land on the ground face down while laying on top of her. "That wasn't very nice, my love." I whispered in her ear as I nibbled it. She let out a small moan, making my body react to hers before she reached back, sliding her hand down my shorts, wrapping her fingers around my hardened length. She took my attention away briefly as I let myself go in the pleasure of her stroking me, before she elbowed my ribs making me fall off her back. She climbed on top of me, as she rolled her hips against my hardened length, looking down with a smirk on her face. "Did Alpha just get pinned by a small little she-wolf?" Leon taunts.

Looking over at him I let out a small growl at his comment, Lillian still straddling me as she grinned at my defeat. I grabbed her arms as I went to roll over on top of her, but before I do she managed to escape my grasp. She stood up, brushing herself off as she looked me up and down waiting to see what I would do. I went to grab her again as she slung her weight across my arm and wrapping her legs around my waist as she held on to my neck from behind. I was about to fall backwards but she let go jumping off before I hit the ground. Lillian was laughing as she kept dodging my attempts to grab her. Shawn and Leon sat down in the grass watching me fail miserably at trying to capture her, while laughing at my embarrassment.

I lunged at her getting very annoyed at Leon's sarcastic remarks, and lost my footing as she swept my legs out from under me, making me fall face first into the ground. Dirt and grass covered my hair and face as I turned around to get back on my feet. Lillian giggling as she towered over me, "Awe, the big bad Alpha can't catch his little she-wolf" she smirked before walking away to grab her water bottle. I grabbed her ankle as she stepped away, making her fall. I laid on top of her, holding both her hands in one of mine over her head, breathing heavy as I nibbled and nicked her mark.

She laid there as I kissed down her neck and sucked on her mark. She would never have taken me at all if I wasn't distracted with the thought of loosing her. "Yep, I'm out. It's no fun watching if I can't join in." Leon states as he gets to his feet. A growl escapes me at his words. Shawn's hand connects to the back of Leon's head with lightning speed. I roll of, and I pulled myself up to stand, reaching down I grabbed Lillian and lifted her to her feet. "Let's go in and have a shower." I whispered in her ear as my arm draped over her shoulder.
