Chapter 34

"Where you going?" I sing as I jump on Damon's bed.

"Out, with bonnie and Jeremy." he says and I sigh.

"Can I come. because I know you are looking for the burning site of the witches. which we both know.... we both know of." I shrug as he frowns.

"How do you know?" He asks and I tap my nose.

"A vampire never tells her secrets." I reply and he sits down on the bed. "you have a nice bed."

"Silk. now don't tell anyone." he pecks my lips before pulling something from his pocket.

"Here." he throws me my car keys before vamp speeding away. A smirk plays on my lips as I stand and quickly make my way around the room. Pulling books from shelves, opening boxes. nothing.

"Damn it Damon." I mutter as I still search for the moonstone. I know that he was taking it this morning while I was asleep. it is obvious.

"Ugh." I go over to the fire place... wait, why does me need a fire place in his room? Oh well. I search around it for secret buttons... a secret door. I even stick my hand up the chimney.

"No moonstone." I mutter but then pull a face as I have sut all over my hands. slowly, I make my way over to the sink and start to wash my hands.

"Huh." my eyes glance at the many soaps... they could be past as... "smart." I say as I dig through them. At the bottom is the moonstone. I smile as I hold it back in my hands.

"Hello freedom." I smile but then hear footsteps behind me.

"What are you doing?" I slip the moonstone in my jean pocket before turning to face Katherine.

"I like soap." I mutter and she rolls her eyes.

"Like I would believe that..... you found the moonstone." she says and I sigh, pulling it out.

"You got me. now leave and don't say a word." I state and she chuckles

"Compulsion won't work on me." she says. "I'm now full of vervain again."

"I wasn't trying to compel you. if you kept your mouth shut I was offering a that you could have to help me." she scoffs as I walk closer.

"Why would I help you?" She sneers as she crosses her arms.

"I have been able to make a deal with klaus. he wants the doppelgänger and the moonstone. and you could be in on that deal to save your life." I say and she smirks.

"Go on."

I look up to elena, and put on a fake smile. she accepts the check on her aunts behalf and I can't help but bite my lip, holding in a laugh.

"Are you okay?" I turn to stefan and nod. but guilt hits me. He's going to hate me. a loud thud hits me ears and everyone rushes to the stairs where the one and only john Gilbert it, lying dead. my eyes look up and I catch Isobel before she leaves. slowly, I push through the crowd and to where Katherine is.

"You ready?" I ask and she nods before stefan runs in.

"You two okay?" Stefan asks and we nod.

"I'm calling damon." shit, that's done it. I blink away tears that are threatening to spill while I look down. I'm so so sorry.

"Let's get out of here. come on." stefan says as he guides us out.

"Wait, I'm going to check on john. I saw he had the ring on." I say. stefan nods before I quickly run back inside.
