I stare at the door. I can't believe I'm going through with it. My hands pull at the tight mid thigh dress I have on and I grasp the champagne in my hands.

"Just do it! Just raise your hand and knock on the door. it's easy! It's not like your long lost lover is in there." I roll my eyes at my useless pep talk. "that's right. my long lost lover is in there." slowly, I raise my hand and knock on the door.

"This was a mistake." I quickly turn but the door opens.

"Hello?" I spin to see the news lady stood at the door.

"I'm here for the party. What are you doing here?" I snap as I stand there.

"I am staying here." My eyes look over her body, most of her skin covered by fabric. a new blood bag. nice.

"Andy! Who is it?" I freeze at the voice and my palms begin to sweet. I quickly wipe them on my thighs before he appears. "Angel. she's a friend, let her in."

"Any friend of Damon's is a friend of mine." Andy states as she lets me in. I watch carefully before stepping in. "the guests are just d-" I ignore the rest as I watch Damon slip an arm around her waist and he peck her cheek.

"Okay." I hiss before walking down the hall to the dining room.

"I don't like her." I hear Andy state and I jus roll my eyes. once I walk in, I see Jenna and Alaric prepping everything.

"Yo Alaric! I brought the fun!" I show them the Alcohol and Jenna stares.

"Oh good, is Elijah just behind?" Alaric takes the champagne from my hands and I shake my head.

"I ditched him." I say as I look at him. "he is beginning to love me to death." they both laugh but Jenna's eyes still don't leave the champagne. is she a recovering alcoholic? Shit.

"Where did you get the champagne from?" She tilts her head a but and stares.

"I have my ways." I tap my nose and Alaric chuckles, but I can tell it is fake. his heart beat is too fast.

"I asked Elijah to bring some, he text me earlier saying angel was coming down with it because he had some paper work to do." I nod my head, agreeing with the lie.

"Okay." Jenna believes it as Damon and Andy walk in. I feel my heart clench. suddenly, the doorbell rings and I smile.

"I'll get it!" Jenna and I say at the same time and we laugh.

"It's alright, I like I be handy. Damon should know." he glares at me as I walk past and to the door. my eyes widen as I see who it is. I hear footsteps and Damon appears behind me.

"Who invited him?" I ask and Damon does that weird Half scowl half smile think.

"John. Surprise. Leave." He states and john chuckles. could I just snap his neck? No. okay.

"When Jenna told me she was coming to a dinner party for Elijah and angel, I decided I couldn't miss out on all the fun and games." He states as he walks into the house and into the parlour. we follow and then Alaric walks in. we all look at him.

"There are not going to be any games tonight, John. It's just a friendly dinner party." I notice Jenna behind him as John looks back at Damon.

"What he said." Damon replies with a sickly sweet smile. I like this side of him.

The door bell soon goes again and I gulp.

"And that must be Elijah."i mutter. Demon goes to answer the door.

"You seem worried, angel." Jenna states and I shake my head.

"No. it's just a bit weird having my guardian and my brother under the same roof." I reply. Which isn't a lie. it's is weird having Damon and Elijah under the same roof.

"I'll go and greet him." we nod as Jenna leaves.

"So, your Damon's little sister." Andy asks and I nod. "then why is Elijah your guardian?"

"Well he is my god father. so if anything happened to my parents, I would have to live with him." I reply and she nods, but I can tell something Is wrong. the front door shuts and before I know it, we are all sat around the table, me next to john and Alaric.

"I hate to break it to you, Damon, angel, but according to Elijah, your family is so not a founder of this town." Jenna says and Damon frowns.

"Hmm, do tell." Damon says and I know he is on edge having Elijah here, and me who nearly killed him.

"Well, as I mentioned to Jenna earlier, a faction of settlers migrated from Salem after the witch trials in the 1690s. Over the next hundred years they developed this community where they could feel safe from persecution." Elijah states and I roll my eyes. he has to have all the facts.

"Hmm. Because they were witches?" I add and Elijah nods.

"Yeah, but there's no tangible proof there were witches in Salem." I hold in a laugh. Salem witches are annoying.

"Andie's a journalist. Big on facts." Well I'm big on the truth.

"Well, the lore says that there was this wave of anti-witch hysteria. It broke out in the neighboring settlement, so these witches were rounded up. They were tied to stakes in a field together and, uh, burned. Some say you could hear the screams from miles around us. They were consumed by the fire." I state at Damon who glares at me.

"I wouldn't repeat this to the Historical Society." Jenna jokes and Elijah laughs. I like seeing Elijah like this. It is different from his brooding gloomy self.

"It's starting to sound a little like a ghost story to me." John states. we didn't need to know your opinion. no one asked for it. and if anyone did, I would rip their heads off.

"So, why do you want to know the location of these alleged massacres?" Damon asks and Elijah smiles. my boys are gonna start fighting. wait?!? My boys?!? No no no.

"You know... a healthy historian's curiosity, of course." He replies.

"Of course." He glances at Damon and smiles, nervously. Your a big bad ass original! Get a grip! After a while, Damon is the one to brake the silence.

"Would anyone care for some cognac? I have a bottle that I've been saving for ages." He asks as he gets up from the table. Something is up.

"None for me thanks. Nine bottles of wine is my limit." We all laugh as everyone declines.

"May I have some? Just a bit though?" Everyone looks at me and Elijah smiles.

"Alright, just a drop damon. don't want her getting drunk again." everyone laughs but Jenna looks confused.

"Oh, um... when I was younger" (much younger) "I got hold of my dad's bottle of beer and drank it. I was running around the house like a maniac!" I say and she laughs.

"It was a sight. we had to pin her down." Elijah says and I smile. I remember the memory well. it was when I was 7 and got hold of my father's beer. I didn't know what It was a drank it. Henrik was the one who told my dad and they were chasing me around the house. In the end, it was Elijah that caught me.
