Chapter 24

--- Alex's POV ---

Addy stormed off, I knew she was upset and I wanted to go after her, I needed to explain.

'What is her problem?' Jade asked

'Just leave it' I snapped

'Sorry 'Lex' she pouted and I clenched my jaw at the use of my nickname

'Whatever' I sighed

'I'll go get us some drinks' Jade winked and walked off without waiting for my reply.

As soon as she was out of sight I ventured into the crowds to find Addy. I didn't find her or Jack but I did find Jodine. I'd seen Jack talking to her earlier so I thought she might have seen him.

'Hey Jodine do you know where Jack is?' I smiled at her

'Yeah he said he had to help Adeline she was upset about something' Jodine said

'Do you know where they are?' I asked

'No I don't sorry' she apologised and stood up

'Are you leaving?' I frowned

'Yeah my sister's getting married tomorrow so I can't be out too late' she smiled

'Oh well it was nice meeting you Jodine' I said

'Yeah you too Alex I'll see you around I guess' she said awkwardly

'Sure you and Jack seem pretty close so maybe we will' I laughed and she blushed

'Bye Alex' she waved and walked off completely ignoring my comment about her and Jack.

I still had no idea where Jack and Addy where though all I knew was that they were together. I sighed and ran my hand through my hair in frustration.

'Hey are you okay?' Rian walked over with Kara

'I've upset Addy and she's disappeared somewhere with Jack' I said

'Why what have you done?' Kara frowned

'I was waiting outside the bathroom for her and then Jade appeared and kissed me and Addy saw' I sighed

'Alex you can't blame her for being upset' Kara shook her head and I glared at her

'Kara's right Alex she loves you and you made out with the girl who makes her life hell' Rian said

'We weren't making out though' I protested

'Addy doesn't know that though' he said

'You need to tell her the truth but wait until she's calmed down' Kara warned

'Whatever she's gone off with Jack so I'll let them be fucking happy together' I said and walked away from Kara and Rian.

Talking to those two had made me so annoyed; they were acting like it was all my fault. It was partly my fault but Addy could've let me explain she should've trusted me. I knew I was just letting my feelings get the better of me but I was so sick of always being the bad guy, everyone always blamed me. All I needed was to forget what had happened. I saw a group of boys I recognised vaguely sharing a small bottle of vodka in the corner trying not to be noticed. I walked over and cleared my throat to get their attention.

'Can we help you?' one of them asked

'If you let me join you I won't tell anyone it was you who spiked Miss Darrow's drink' I said

They whispered among themselves and then turned back to me 'Fine Gaskarth you sneaky bastard'

I laughed and sat down with them, gladly accepting the half empty bottle and taking a long drink from it. The burn gave me some relief and I smiled to myself.
