Chapter 20

--- Addy's POV ---

'As you all know we've been planning the Winter Ball for a couple of weeks now and we've settled on a date' Sarah, head of the student council, announced at lunch one day

'It will be on the 14th of December which is two weeks away and it will be held in the gym as usual' Sarah continued

Excited chatter drowned out what she said next so she sat down. People didn't really listen to the student council unless it was something interesting, and even then they only listened to the important parts.

'This is our last Winter Ball guys' I looked at the boys sadly

'Yeah I know it's really sad' Alex agreed

'Do you want to go as a threesome again?' Jack asked Alex and me

We would usually go to that kind of event together so that nobody got left out, other people thought it was weird but it was just how we worked.

'Yeah I'm happy to' I nodded my head

'Same it'll be awesome' Alex said

'It's a date' Jack winked

'Did I miss something?' Kara joined us at the table 'Everyone looks so excited' 

'The Winter Ball is in two weeks' I told her

'Yeah we're going together right?' Rian asked her nervously

'Of course we are' she kissed his cheek

'I'm going with Alex and Addy' Jack told her proudly like a child

'You three are cute' she smiled almost condescendingly 'Addy do you want to come dress shopping with me?'

'Oh sure' I said. I thought she'd want to go with her other friends so I was surprised at her invite. We weren't even friends so I assumed her own friends were busy.

'I know you would usually go with those two but sometimes people talk about you three' she told me making me feel self conscious

'Okay fine' I relented

'This weekend we'll go shopping then I'm so excited' she squealed and ran off to tell her friends.

'Have fun with girly time Addy' Alex teased me

'Fuck you' I punched his arm

'You love it really' he laughed

'How about this one?' Kara held up another dress

'Definitely not' I shook my head 'I can't pull off a floor length dress I'm too short'

'Yeah you're right' she agreed and carried on looking

We'd been shopping for hours trying to find me a dress. Kara had already bought hers, it was long made of red satin and I knew she'd look beautiful. I just couldn't find the right one though; I looked so awkward in dresses. I'd have been so much happier wearing jeans.

'This is perfect' Kara gasped and held up another dress

'It's beautiful' I breathed

'Go try it on' she hurried me into the changing rooms

I locked myself in a cubicle put on the dress and turned to look in the mirror. I didn't look beautiful like Kara did in hers but I looked better than usual. It was blue and strapless with a sparkled bodice and a sash round the middle with a flower. It came down to just above my knee and didn't show an inappropriate amount of cleavage.
